. good morning from you with the 57 newsroom at cbs headquarters here in new york. good to be with you, i'm anne-marie green. we begin with hurricane florence when continues to strengthen as it heads towards the coast of the united states. it is still about 685 miles southeast of bermuda head the west, now with winds at 90 miles per hour. florence is expected to become an extremely dangerous hurricane by tonight and come ashore sometime late thursday or friday. it's still too early to project the storm's exact path, folks d re and map out s are being escape routes. residents are stocking up on supplies like bottled water and generators and some stores have sold out. the national hurricane center stl after coming ashore and that could lead to the potential for life-threatening storm surge

and inland flooding from long and heavy rains. governor of south carolina says his state is preparing for the possibility of a large-scale disaster. >> make your plans now. if you have -- assume that a major hurricane is going to hit right smack dab in the middle of south carolina and may go way inshore. >> swimmers have been warned to stay out of surf. cruise ships and navy ships are already being moved out of harm's way. here at cbs a change at the top. lesley moonves, one of the most powerful executives is out following new allegations of sexual misconduct. the announcement came last night in a statement moonves says untrue allegations from a decade ago are being made against him. lora podesta is here in new york. good morning. >> good morning. and moonves's resignation comes shortly after "the new yorker" magazine published a new article detailing stories of more women who are accusing him of inappropriate sexual behavior.

in a statement he acknowledged three of those encounters but said they were consensual. cbs chairman and ceo leslie moonves resigned yesterday just hours after six new women came forward accusing him of sexual misconduct. a report by the new yorker magazine details incidents which allegedly took place between the 1980s and early 2000s. they include claims that moonves forced them to perform oral sex on him, that he exposed himself to them without their consent, and that he used physical violence and intimidation against them. moonves released a sttement late last night saying untrue allegations from decades ago are now being made against me that are not consistent with who i am. i am deeply saddened to be leaving the company. cbs corporation and major shareholder national amusement said moonves and cbs will donate

$20 million to one or more organizations to support the me too movement and equality for women in the workplace. the money will be donated immediately and will come out of any severance package moonves will receive. pending the result of an ongoing investigation. the investigation started after a separate new yorker article in july detailed six other allegations. >> cbs's chief operating officer will serve as president and acting ceo while the board conducts a search for a permanent successor to moonves. anne-marie. >> lora, thank you so much. vice president mike pence says he is 100% confident that no one on his staff wrote that scathing anonymous call published "the
