>> -- choy. we're following the latest developments on capitol hill. >> reporter: senate democrats want the fbi to investigate is alleged sexual assault. this as the judiciary committee waits to hear from the accuser about the hearing. brett kavanaugh will testify under oath monday an after allegation he sexual assaulted a 15-year-old when he was 17. this psychologist said he pinned her to a bed and groped her at a high school party in the early 1980s. kavanaugh denies the accusation saying at that story is a false allegation. the chairman says christine blasey ford has not yet agreed to testify. on cbs this morning, a committee member said that she has nothing to gain by stepping guard. >> i believe her. you know, she's pretty specific

carolinas to swell, flooding homes and businesses. as the rivers crest, flooding is only expected to get worse. . >> i think people are getting complacent and that's dangerous. >> reporter: he's worried about the cape fear river's crest.. >> that's a lot of water. that water has to go somewhere. >> reporter: rescues continued monday through north carolina. crews used boats to help evacuate people trapped by flood waters. >> i thought we were okay until last night when the water just kept coming up and up. >> reporter: the lumber rir is crest -- river is crested and will the hit major flood stage until next week. >> the biggest threat is the lumber river. . >> reporter: we rode along with the police on monday. >> lumber river caused the massive flooding in hurricane matthews. >> reporter: as the water rises, so does the death toll. >> i was holding his hand, trying to hold him, trying to pull him up.
