called norcal rapist. jackie has the latest. >> a news conference ending minutes ago with authorities from sacramento county confirming the arrest of 58 year old roy charles waller yesterday in berkley as he was showing up for work, at the university. waller lives banesia and workedded at uc berkley for 25 years. police say he is the man responsible for a 15 year crime spree that spread across 6 counties. law enforcement age agencies have been looking for this man for 27 years. authorities say he is responsible for sexually assaulting 10 women throughout the bay area and sacramento valley. he started with an attack in 19 and moved to vellejo and martinez and davis and chico and woodland ending in sacramento in 2006. the district attorney says today is the result of science and law enforcement working together.

>> for 27 years there has been one common thread, his dna. i have often said in my career that dna is the silent witness to the truth. for 27 years, that truth was not known until now. >> minutes ago, we received this statement from uc establishingly, we were shocked today to learn that a campus employee was arrested in connection with a series of rapes that occurred more than a decade ago in several northern california communities. a statement goes on to say, there is no indication that any crimes occurred within the campus community. back in 2006, one of his victims spec about how her life has never been the same since she was raped. she pled with the public for help in finding the man that broke in to her home attacking her and her roommate.
