now. buses are operating out of the temporary transbay terminal at howard and maine. we are live at the transit center now with the latest. >> reporter: it's a recipe for disaster. construction, street closures and now this cracked beam at the brand-new salesforce transit center . all of those factors meant for a difficult morning for a lot of people. >> i am glad that somebody said, this looks dangerous. let's close it down. because the whole thing looks dangerous to me. >> reporter: she is just one of thousands of commuters whose morning started off rougher than usual. >> i am late. i am glad they put out some signs and told me that the 38 will be here. i have to transfer to get to work. and transfer to go home. >> reporter: for others who came into the city an hour before her, they are commute

was more tolerable despite having to return to the temporary transbay terminal again. >> i work across the street from the temporary transform -- transbay. >> it's 15 minutes. normal traffic. >> reporter: a cracked beam that was discovered at the brand-new salesforce transit center yesterday morning forced the transbay joint powers authority to close the building. buses were rerouted all morning. the beam supports the roof garden and sits above the third level bus a deck. >> it's a safety matter and we take it seriously. out of caution we closed it. until we determine the cause. >> reporter: today the transbay joint powers authority said it has engineers taking a look at it. structural engineer said, if a crack is visible to the naked eye, it's a major concern. >> something they have done

know what salesforce does? >> reporter: you live in san francisco. do you know what salesforce does? >> not really. >> i think it's about financial planning and they hire people all over the world. something to do with the cloud. >> reporter: as we live beneath the salesforce tower, maybe you were embarrassed to ask. this is something that has puzzled a great many of us. what exactly is it that salesforce does? we thought we would let a salesforce competitor try to answer the question. >> fresh works as a company that competes with salesforce. it is software that helps sales and support will help customers. >> reporter: he is the ceo of fresh works. like salesforce they may cloud- based crm or customer relationship management products . software that is designed to keep track of customers and keep them happy.

across the bay area. the big weather story, the microclimates. the big temperature span. from ocean beach to concord, about 40 miles, the temperature spread is 38 degrees. from cool additions to the coast, really heating up inland. today the warmest day out of the week. a high pressure in place with the clockwise flow. we are looking at offshore winds and that is a dominant weather feature for inland communities helping them to warm up. we have low pressure to the south and that is bringing in onshore winds for the coast and for parts of the bay. that is why we started with areas of fog. a big difference with the weather from the coast and inland. we are tracking some changes. this is tropical storm rosa. that could provide some tropical moisture for us. and the chance of showers by
