'breaking news" in san jose. all southbound lanes of highway 101 near the broken -- broke all road offramp are blocked right now. there is a fatal crash sorry now involving a caltrans vehicle. the person who died was not a caltrans worker but rather in some -- someone inside a vehicle that collided with a caltrans truck. there is no estimated time on when that highway will reopen. back to the pg&e power outages. the lights are still out and it affects more than 17,000 homes and businesses. the electric company says this unprecedented move is to keep people safe and minimize the extreme fire danger. jackie ward is in nava. >> reporter: pg&e says this is the first time they have ever done something like this, but it may not be the last. we as people in napa county how they feel about this becoming a more regular thing

up to fairfield, 24 mile-per- hour winds. solano county under a red flag warning for the central valley until 11:00 p.m. the rest of the bay area we are watching the winds decrease. that is why that red flag warning has expired from the north bay and east bay hills. in the south bay, a total of 11 people are now displaced after a two alarm house fire in san jose. the flames reported just before 8:30 a.m. on east san antonio street. the fire started in the attic on the causes under investigation. no injuries were reported on the red cross is on scene assist in the residence. an arrest has been made in bottega bay that took a violent turn when a deputy crashed his suv into a home.

ryan more of santa rosa led them on a high-speed pursuit yesterday morning. deputy say he and two other suspects are believed to have stolen several generators from the bodega bay campground over the last two weeks. officials say they were responding to suspicious activity early yesterday when they attempted to stop ryan who was driving a honda pilot. he then drove away and that is when the pursuit began. somehow the deputies vehicle lost traction and slammed into the side of this house. the suv caught on fire and the flames started spreading to the home. the sonoma county deputy remains in the hospital with serious injuries. brian remains in custody. bail has been set at $110,000. massachusetts senator, elizabeth warren has released the results of a dna analysis proving she has distant native american ancestry. she tweeted out the results today that were on the front page of this morning's boston globe. she also tweeted about the president's promise

after entering the consulate. mola lenghi has more information. >> reporter: president trump spoke with the king of saudi arabia monday morning asking about the disappearance of saudi journalist. >> the world is watching. the world is talking. this is very important to get to the bottom of it. >> reporter: the president says he ordered secretary of state, mike pompeo to leave immediately to meet with the king. he entered the saudi consulate nearly two weeks ago and has not been seen since. the saudi's denied having any knowledge about his whereabouts. >> it sounded to me like maybe these could have been rogue killers, who knows? we are going to try getting to the bottom of it very soon. his was a flat denial. >> reporter: president trump told 60 minutes last night , there would be consequences if it is discovered the saudi's murdered the u.s. resident. >> we are going to get to the bottom of it and there will be severe consequences.

>> members of the san francisco foundation and kaiser permanente joined the mayor for today's announcement. electric scooters returned to the streets of san francisco this morning. two companies got the go-ahead to deploy 625 scooters today. scoot and skip are the companies that were chosen out of the 12 companies that apply for the permit. if all goes well for the first six months they may be allowed to double that number. the apps for both skip and scoot have specific instructions about where to park those scooters in the city. more bay area news on traffic and one of one of san francisco's most popular neighborhoods. the project will make numerous improvements to make the high-end jury corridor safer including travel signal upgrades and new curb ramps. the construction project is scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2020.

crossing the bay bridge, it than i could take a little longer for the next three weeks. lanes will be closed on the western side of the bridge nightly from 8:00 p.m. until 4:00 a.m. the closures will allow crews to replace seals on bridge joints. work is expected to take place through october 27. the commute from the bridge into downtown san francisco should be smoother. the stretch of fremont street is back open. it was close for weeks after two cracks were found on the overhead bus deck at the new terminal. since then contractors and engineers have been working to shore up that structure. the terminal itself remains closed as the repairs continue. still had, big baby news from one of the world's most loved couples. kensington palace has announced prince harry and meghan marare expecting and fans are already betting on names. the president is getting a firsthand look at the devastation by hurricane michael along the east coast on a search for those

18 degrees warmer in santa rosa, 17 degrees warmer napa. you can see that big difference with our weather. stronger offshore winds that is why we had a high fire danger and red flag warning this morning. that has since expired for the north bay and east bay hills. we are still talking about very dry air with those offshore winds in place. we are looking at that ridge of high pressure and still turned north and that load to -- still to ourselves. that low drawing in those northeasterly winds. that is why our relative humidity levels in the single digits right now. the good news, we are going to watch the winds ease as we had to the day and especially for tonight. we saw winds gusting up to 77 miles across the north bay mountains overnight.
