minutes ago. you can see people are still tricking out -- trickling out from the main plaza. the people who walked out and around the world say they are tired about how the company handles sexual misconduct. and they jammed the plaza adjacent to charlie's cafe, the main lunch spot on cafe. from the sky we can see a message saying not okay google. these people want a list of things that will be different. and they want going toll start sending out annual accountability reports to keep with the lines of transparency. in a new york "times" report last week it said that google quietly protected at least three male executives from sexual harassment claims letting with sizable

pay-outs. they have fired 48 people for sexual harassmentment they said none of them received exit packages. we asked the employees in mountainview why it was important for them to walk out this morning. >> i think it is also important to have -- to show that people in engineering care about representation because women are unfortunately not well represented in engineering at the moment. >> reporter: google's ceo was aware of the planned walk-outs and wrote in a statement that, quote, the employee also have the support they need if they wish to participate. the employees have raised constructive ideas for how we can improve our policies and going forward, we're taking in all of their feedback so we can turn these ideas into action. something that these employees were demanding here today and the latest diversity statistic numbers released, % google employees are male.

studio. watch it live. coverage starts at 8:00 p.m. tuesday on kpix.com. this just in, a debt collection company has agreed to pay $9 million to settle a lawsuit filed by santa clara county district attorney. it accused ally interstate of harassing thousands of consumers in 18 ths ofrobo call the settlement also requires the company to provide training to its employees and maintain records of calls and complaints. the complaint was originally filed by the riverside district attorney and later joined by several other counties. the police all over the bay area are trying to stop side shows before they begin. >> and we have more on a wild night in san jose and the crackdown. >> reporter: it certainly was. there were several arrests and several vehicles impounded. now, officers busted some of the side shows. you can see one of them right here like this.

that was at 880 about 1:00 this morning. you hear those cashes burning -- cars burning rubber, and other vehicles are forced to back up at the intersection. one of several side shows that took place overnight in the south bay. they got intel of when and where people might be gathering and then divided forces to try to stop them. the chp arrested two people and san jose police issued three citations. one of the arrests was made after a crash under highway 87 involving a vehicle possibly related to a side show. the officers say that the driver tried to take off in another car, but they caught him. at least two vehicles were impounded for 30 days, and now the officers are hoping that people who attend these side show also get the message that it -- shows will get the message that it is not worth it. >> it is dangerous. you're putting yourself at risk. you're standing around vehicles which are doing erratic
