pay-outs. they have fired 48 people for sexual harassmentment they said none of them received exit packages. we asked the employees in mountainview why it was important for them to walk out this morning. >> i think it is also important to have -- to show that people in engineering care about representation because women are unfortunately not well represented in engineering at the moment. >> reporter: google's ceo was aware of the planned walk-outs and wrote in a statement that, quote, the employee also have the support they need if they wish to participate. the employees have raised constructive ideas for how we can improve our policies and going forward, we're taking in all of their feedback so we can turn these ideas into action. something that these employees were demanding here today and the latest diversity statistic numbers released, % google employees are male.
