post came addition of kpix 5 news. it happened between the boulevard. the bizarre behavior that prompted neighbors to call police.>> a dramatic ending. seven shots into the windshield and the driver is dead. let's bring you to the beginning. it started in the complex roughly 10:30 am in danville. neighbors saw this man walking back and forth for a long time. >> i asked, may i help you? he said, i know where i am going and i will go there now and he harried into the next complex -- harried into the next complex.>> he seemed mentally challenged. he did not appear to be stoned or in drugs.>> and a got suspicious and called the cops. he went into a car and led

police on a chase that ended downtown. on front street and diablo were the suspect stopped his car. the police chief said officers walked up to try to arrest him.>> the driver drove the vehicle straight the officers. the officer fired the weapon.>> we heard gunfire and got on the floor.>> multiple, loud shots.>> a gun being shot multiple times.>> after the young man was shot, he lost control of the car and hit an oncoming jeep . the suspect done at the hospital.>> very scary. i was shaking and it was horrible.>> police are not answering any questions. they are trying to find out why he was at the complex and let them on a chase. police have not released the man's name. they are trying to notify the

child protective workers to find out how these two children ended up kidnapped. the very same history that police are trying to unravel. >> police said they have a felony wire -- warrant for diana moreira . investigators say diana and the children were playing at the park when they went missing pick they were supposed to be under the watchful eye of a social worker supervising according to detectives, the social worker followed her into the restroom. when she came out they were gone and when she went to look for them it appears priscilla slipped away. police said the suspect as 33 years old. five foot four inches tall and weighs 120 pounds. driving a mini cooper with california license 6uwl251 .

a turnout in the 60 percentile. the election day will be matching 2010 selection which was the previous gubernatorial without an incumbent on the ballot. we will be at least at 61 % in 2010 but we will be higher than that i expect to expect as many as 15,000 people expected to bring their ballots to drop off on the sidewalks statewide and -- a record number are registered to vote. according million more in the general election. the highest percentage into a midterm election in nearly 70 years. i think it is clear to say that californians are fired up and ready to vote. registering to vote is not the same thing as voting. one firm that tracks ballot

welcome back. investigators say a suspected drunk driver was speeding down the freeway at 100 miles per hour. she slammed into a construction site. it sent several steel beams crashing onto the interstate blocking the interstate for hours.>> someone had to hit it hard. the investigation is going on with that. we want to make sure it is safe and everyone gets home safely. there was not that much structural damage. the beams were scheduled to be removed next week anyway. the driver was taken to the hospital and eggs expected to be all right. struck the home -- halloween candy is not even done yet in the cool temperatures and a lot of snowmaking with a limited number of runs.
