that seeks justice for all americans. matthew whitaker replaces jeff sessions who was fired yesterday by president trump. whitaker who has the authority to oversee mueller's investigation has been highly critical of the probe questioning its scope. democratic lawmakers are calling on whitaker to recuse himself just as sessions did. matthew, good morning. >> reporter: this is a man who is likened mueller's investigation to a lynch mob on twitter and that has leading democrats concerned. president trump forced jeff sessions to resign yesterday, but the ousted attorney general was all smiles as he left the justice department. the white house released a letter from sessions who told the president, quote, at your kwi question, i'm submitting my resignation. his departure was not unexpected. >> therefore i have represent used myself in the matters that deal with the trump campaign.

>> reporter: he faced heavy criticism by president trump since rekugcusing himself from mueller's investigation last month. matthew whitaker will serve as acting attorney general. a doj says he'll oversee all department matters. >> this is another step in the president seeking to undermine and sabotage the mueller investigation. >> reporter: whitaker has been critical of the mueller probe in the past and has written it could become a political fishing expedition. they called on him to recuse himself. >> they should not be able to limit it, they should not be able to interfere with mueller going ford award and doing what thinks is the right thing. >> reporter: mueller has indicted 35 people including companies and top campaign officials. whitaker is not expected to named permanent attorney general. among the top front runners of

ie 194. news that attorney general jeff sessions was fired sent marijuana shares higher. sessions said last january that he would work to overturn obama era policy that allowed states to make their own rules on pot without input from the federal government. and the pot industry views the democrat's takeover of the house as good news since democrats are inclined to reform federal marijuana laws. goggogle is planning to add real estate to accommodate more than 12,000 more employees. that would nearly double google's staffing here. the journal reports google plans to expand existing property it owns and buy new real estate. amazon is reportedly considering locating part of its second headquarters in new york that would employ 25,000 workers. and samsung unveiled its foldable screen phone. the phone can be folded in half
