246aqi value. near richmond, aqi value above 300. that is hazardous air quality there. talking about serious health effects, especially when you get in that hazardous category. it's dangerous across the bay area with thick smoke that continues for us. the tower camera looking north hard to make out the tower due to all of this smoke. temperatures right now concord 64. oakland 59. liver mother 65. san jose 62. santa rosa 67. the ninth day in a row with unhealthy air in effect. we stay smokey through the weekend with rain chances next week. y itstill so smokey? that smoke stuck over the bay area. these are the exit routes for smoke. the smoke is coming from the butte county campfire with north easterly winds bringing that smoke into the bay area.

that smoke as it moves through the valley gets trapped by the mountains. across the 680 corridor, gets trapped in the trivalley. as it moves across the golden gate gap, it's blocked by a light sea breeze. that acts as a wall preventing the smoke from exiting into the pacific. because of that, that smoke is trapped in the bay area. that smokey pattern sticks around for us over the next few days. we thought this low pressure system would bring onshore winds and clearer skies for the weekend. that's not going to be the case. it's far enough away from us. the next chance where we could see better air quality next tuesday and then looking at wednesday, thanksgiving, next friday. rain chances there really hoping for that. sunset at 4:57. sunrise at 6:22 tomorrow. daytime highs for today on the cool side with smokey conditions there.
