losses. >> good afternoon. >> it has been another wild ride on wall street as we take a look at the big board. it is in the red. down more than 500 points. we have about an hour to go before the closing bell. dow was down 596 points at one point. all three major indexes are slightly lower for the year wiping out all those games. tech stocks are taking a hard hit. apple sings 3.6. sex and microsoft give up 3.3%. financial advisors are still optimistic. >> in 2008, as you know, we had the banks faildepression. we worked our way out of that. now fast forward to today.

we are going to begin to see some changes and a change in wind direction. that will bring improving air quality for us. a cold front will move in. that will bring the rain for tomorrow. this is the smoke forecast. we showed you this last weekend early this week. the red is the smoke. you can see that we are not seeing that anymore. we are going to see better air quality has we go through the rest of the week. we have some relief that is coming. we have two weather systems that will bring rain. we will time that out for you coming up. as the storm clouds move in work crews are trying to locate as many bodies as possible in the fire zone before the rain washes away bone fragments and ash. the camp fire has resulted in 79 deaths. 100 thousand -- 100,000 acres have been destroyed. the fire is 70% contained in

this hour. san francisco is trying to catch an arsonist. we have the surveillance video. >> reporter: it was just after midnight when this man walked into midcity market, opened a pack of toilet paper, takes out to roles and lights them on fire. >> the owner has 30 cameras recording the fire as it really starts to take off. it engulfed the offer -- upper shelves. there was lighter fluid and logs on the bottom shelf. there were 15 people in the store. you can see the smoke coming from the shelf in the back of the store. store workers jumped into action with water buckets and extinguishers and then they called the boss. >> it is my heart.

>> reporter: they had to shut down the store on sunday. the video was turned over to police hoping they could catch the arsonist. >> he got lucky that no one was killed. there is a high rise next door. this is sick. he needs help. >> police have not announced any leads in this case. they would love to hear from you if you have any idea who this guy might be. back to you. >> new developments involving a 49ers fan. ian powers has been found in the water. he was last seen at the 49ers game on monday night. family members say he got up to go to the restroom and never came back. his body was found saturday floating near the harbor about three miles from the stadium. the coroner's office has ruled his death as an accidental

ordered the killing of jamal khashoggi. the trump administration has refused asylum to those crossing the border illegally. immigrant rights groups said it is illegal to do that based on how they entered the country. migrants have started arriving at the border and are waiting to cross a legal entry point. we know the president's daughter used a personal email account to send hundreds of emails about government business last year. a spokesperson said in a statement while transitioning into government she used her private account for scheduling

welcome back. a bus driver being called a hero after helping two dozen kids escape the flames in the camp fire. this is the harrowing journey. we talked to the bus driver who got everyone to safety. >> i knew that things were going to continue to escalate. >> i was frightened. absolutely. >> reporter: kevin mckay took this picture on november 8. he responded to him -- and emergency call. he drove students away from a fast-moving fire. to the right was mcdonald's and it was on fire. >> he took the students.

ignoring the flames was impossible for some. >> we saw one fire and then we saw more fires. >> i held back from crying. we were focused on the kids. we had a great responsibility. that kept us focused. >> this guy began -- the smoke began to feel -- fill the bus. kevin pulled off his shirt. the women tore it to pieces and doused it with water. we were coughing. my eyes were hurting. i knew we had to do something. that was our best option. >> the smoke came in a little bit but they gave us rags to put over her mouth.>> we were both trying to keep each other from crying. we just held hands and said a prayer.>> reporter: kevin drove for 5 hours.

he delivered the children to safety 30 miles away. >> we did not leave until every kid was accounted for and with their parents. >> reporter: there were others that day he says that did much more. he and -- he said he is not a hero. the firemen were going in the opposite direction. that is pretty awesome. >> reporter: kevin and wendy both lost their homes. wendy also lost her pets. she turned eight years old monday and she is grateful to be alive and doing well. >> cbs news, paradise, california. a canine team member is getting a lot of love after cutting his leg while searching. george was stitched up and back on the job the next day.
