watts outside his home after he committed the murder of his family on august 13th. he's seen walking to his truck arrying a red gas can. take the bodies to a work site where he disposed of them there. before taking a plea he claimed that his wife killed the two kids. the video also showed watts confessing to his father that he killed his wife. >> she hurt them and then i -- >> what now? >> i [ inaudible ] her. >> watts changed his story and pleaded guilty to all three murders. he was sentenced to life in prison. a suspect is in custody in connection with last week's shooting at a shopping mall in ce officer shot and killed an innocent man who he says he thought was the shooter. mark strassmann has mo s

actual gunman in the thanksgiving mall shooting. brown has been charged wa attempted murder for a shooting spree that left two people wounded and the hoover, alabama, police department under fire. >> the shooter is down at this time. >> reporter: a responding police officer shot 21-year-old emantic bradford jr. mistaking him for the gunman. bradford was armed but had a concealed weapons permit. >> they killed him in cold blood. they shot that man down for no reason. >> reporter: police in hoover, alabama, later conceded bradford never fired his weapon, the officer killed the wrong man. since then, protesters have been demanding answers and the release of body camera video. so far, investigators have resisted that. hoover councilman derrick murphy and other city officials said if the state agency investigating the shooting won't release the i e s of

information by monday at noon, the chief will decide whether to release bradford sooun yo senior is a retired police officer. >> i want justice for my son. i want the officer who did the shooting held accountable for it. >> reporter: as this investigation continues, the officer who shot and killed bradford remains on administrative leave. on saturday, his parents will bury their only son. mark strassmann, cbs news, hoover, alabama. a new jersey man is set to pbe arraigned this morning in a case involving a mysterious mansion fire. suspect is accused of kill his brother, his brother's wife and their two children. nikki battiste has more. >> this one is the most brutal case that i've seen in my experience here. >> reporter: monmouth county prosecutors chris gramiccioni charged paul caneiro with four counts of murder for allegedly killing his business partner an killing his wife and two young

the u.s./mexico border. three people were killed and eight injured when a pickup truck being chased by border patrol agents crashed outside san diego. authorities say the truck was carrying two people in the cab and nine in the back. hit a spike strip on a highway yesterday afternoon. the truck veered into an embankment and rolled over. police say it was traveling at speeds of more than 100 miles per hour. meanwhile, no criminal charges will be filed against the 42 migrants arrested sunday for charging the border from tijuana, mexico. they were arrested after u.s. agents fired teargas. and in california, flashr storm warnings and flash flood warnings for parts of the state today. cleanup crews had to dig through mud in malibu. they man who was clinging to a tree in the middle of the l.a. river.

in the downtown area and there have been no reports of injuries. that's at least the good news. an airline is using facial recognition to shorten wait time and escaping the campfire. those are some of the headlines on this morning's news stand. footage was released from a sheriff's deputy body camera capturing a harrowing escape from the deadly campfire in northern california. 23-year-old aaron palmly was on a rescue mission in the town of paradise on november 8th when his cruiser broke down. his body cam captured how he and others were surrounded by smoke and fire. firefighters located and rescue them shortly after. 88 people died in the campfire and the entire town of paradise was destroyed. the arizona daily star reports a deputy u.s. marshal was killed serving an arrest warrant.

they say he was shot dead while serving a federal warrant against a suspect wanted for stalking a law enforcement officer. the 26-year-old suspect, ryan schlesinger, then barricaded himself inside the home during an intense standoff with police. he surrendered hours later. and the atlanta journal constitution reports that delta air lines is using facial recognition throughout atlanta's international terminal. international travelers can check in, go through security and board using facial recognition instead of showing passports. delta launched the terminal yesterday at hartsfield-jackson airport. they say it saves an average of two seconds per passenger, or a total of nine minutes for boarding of a wide-body plane. i guess it all adds up, right? still to come, bike sharing gets a lift. a ride-hailing company makes a big investment in a popular bike system. with chantix. i quit smoking i tried to quit smoking for years on my own.

expansion and job cuts at bayer. wendy gillette is at the new york stock exchange with that and more. good morning. >> good morning, anne-marie. investors are keeping an eye on the g-20 summit in argentina to see if president trump and chinese leader xi jinping can come to some sort of trade agreement when they meet. yesterday mr. trump said he was very close to a trade deal with china but said he didn't know if he wanted one because there are billions of dollars of tariffs and taxes coming into the u.s. stocks closed lower yesterday. aztec and financial shares slumped, the dow lost 27 points, the s&p fell 6 points, and the nasdaq was down 18 points.> bay 12,0obs , at's about 10% of the german pharmaceutical company's worldwide workforce. it's also selling its animal copper tone sunscreens and dr. scholl's foot products.

it wants to invest in its core businesses, consumer health and crop science. lyft completed its acquisition of motivate. it's part of the ride-hailing company's plan to offer an array of transportation options within one app and reduce individual car ownership. lyft says it plans to invest $100 million in new york to triple its bike fleet here. it operates bike share systems in new york, washington, d.c., san francisco, and other places. while marijuana businesses are booming in the u.s., most banks and credit card processors won't service cannabis companies. that's because of the federal prohibition on marijuana. but now credit union one says it's launching a pilot program to work with marijuana businesses in alaska. it will help give pot companies options to doing business with just cash. and the u.s. army is turning to microsoft to help soldiers fight and train. the army says it awarded
