that's about to change. mary lee is tracking the conditions for you right now. >> we are tracking an upper level low. the bulk of the energy is offshore and tracking a few showers out there. let's zoom in here. partsover the north bay you can see some light shourps there -- showers there. and pushing across the peninsula and redwood city and palo alto. you can see the light rain showers there. some of this not hitting the ground. we could see a few sprinkles. again, a lot of that rain is offshore and should be moving in later today. the storm watch scale, the rain impact, light to moderate rain, a 3. the wind impact, a 3. flooding impact, a 2. and that commute through the afternoon and evening at a 5 with the rain. futurecast, hour by hour, and i'll let you know when the rain will arrive for your area coming up.

and this afternoon, the city of san jose is expected to take a kwee key society -- key society of a sale to google. there's a last-ditch effort to derail the deal. >> reporter: we are in the home strep to the deal -- stretch of the deal and it looks like there are enough votes to pass it. hunger strikers set up camp hoping to convince the counsel council to save the city-owned land for the homeless. they're set to sell 21 acres to google for $110 million. it's projected to bring 25,000 jobs to the downtown core. >> this is a company that wants to integrate into the city core and build in the street grid in a way that is entirely mixed use with with the housing and affordability, retail, raupts -- restaurants, hotel and everything.

a nationwide beef recall got bigger. the agriculture department is ordering the recall of more than 12 million pounds of beef products that could be contaminated with salmonella. that's 5 million pounds more than the original recall if october. it includes ground beef packaged between july 26th and september #th of -- 7th of this year. the packages are marked with this number. and nearly 250 people in 26 states got the sick before the recall in october.
