powers authority says no date has been set for the reopening. it's been closed since september when crack were discovered on two support beams. testing on those beams has been completed, but an independent peer review panel is pinpointing what caused that failure, they'll report back on findings in february. >> we are close in determining the schedule to reopen, and i ask for your patients as we close in on the cause of the failure and determine our schedule to reopen. once we receive input from the peer review panels as areas we need to inspect, if any, in the transit center, we will be able to develop a schedule for the opening of the transit center. >> it has also submitted an environmental impact statement for phase two of the project to the federal transit administration. it's the first step towards gathering federal funds over the government shutdown is delaying a response. today a san francisco bound ferry carried its first passengers on a maiden voyage
