find them. tonight we have a story spanning more than0 yrs and two continents of a love lost and found, one that will come full circle in the coming week. >> reporter: charlotte shaw and richard titolinen met in 196 and were married soon after. for the next four years they moved around the country as tito trained to be a pilot. >> we were there for each other. we were just one and soul mates. and we still are. >> reporter: he got his wings and shipped off to vietnam on the uss enterprise. >> this particular picture here was the last morning right before he left. >> reporter: on march 1, 1968, tito's plane never returned from a combat mission. he was declared missing in action. >> no one knew where his plane had crashed. no one knew what had happened. >> reporter: charlotte was

came with a message for venezuela's opposition leader, juan guaido. >> we are with you 100%. >> reporter: but deadly clashes over the weekend reveals guaido still lacks control of venezuela's military, a key to power. security forces have violently suppressed most attempts to bring humanitarian aid from the u.s. into venezuela, which is reeling from a humanitarian and economic crisis. president nicolas madonuro has called the aid a political ploy. his refusal to let it in led to tense standoffs today along the border with colombia. protesters have been working to clear this bridge into venezuela. they have knocked over part of a truck. but above they're coming face-to-face with forces and down here with collectivos. at another crossing security forces burned a truck carrying aid. we met this 17-year-old

from 6,000 feet. >> you don't have time to troubleshoot at 6,000 feet. it's pretty close to the ground. >> reporter: ross aimer is a retired airline captain. he flew the 767. >> in general, the 767 is an extremely reliable and safe aircraft. >> reporter: this plane was built in 1992 and converted to a cargo plane for atlas in 2017. the airline has expanded aggressively in recent years and provides planes to amazon for its prime delivery service. captain rick blakley and conrad aska were at the controls of the doomed flight. shawn archuleta hitched a right to get to work in texas. all three died. archuleta, a newly married father had just gotten his dream job at united airlines. the black boxes are equipped with pingers that will go off in water, but they won't activate in mud. so far no pings have been detected, and the ntsb is preparing for a lengthy search that could stretch on weeks or even months. john?

this is the "cbs overnight news." >> hi, everyone, and welcome to the "overnight news." i'm demarco morgan. the stage is set for the second high stakes summit between president trump and north korea's kim jong-un. the president is flying to vietnam and is expected to arrive this morning. north korea has no air force one so kim left his capital by train on saturday. the north koreans do have missiles and a nuclear weapons program, and that could eventually threaten the u.s. inobandhose is at the heart of this meeting. the summit will take place in hanoi, and ben tracy is there. >> reporter: after an elaborate sendoff in pyongyang, kim jong-un rode his dark green and very slow armored train for more

than 50 hours through china to reach the vietnamese border. he apparently wasn't in a hurry, and neither it seems is president trump. >> i think we'll have a very tremendous summit. we want denuclearization. >> reporter: before departing for hanoi, the president says he is no longer insisting that north korea quickly denuclearize. >> i'm not in a rush. i don't want to rush anybody. i just don't want testing. as long as there is no testing, we're happy. >> reporter: north korea has not tested any weapons for more than a year. but there is clear evidence the regime is still producing nuclear fuel and working on its weapons program. the first summit in singapore, ended with a vague commitment to work towards denuclearization. despite president trump tweeting that north korea is no longer a nuclear threat, the regime has yet to give up a single weapon or even disclose how many it has. on sunday, secretary of state mike pompeo seemed to contradict the president. >> do you think north korea remains a nuclear threat? >> yes. but the president said he doesn't. >> it's not what he said.

the search is on in south carolina for the winning ticket in a 1.5 billion mega millions jackpot. it is the second largest jackpot in u.s. history; but so far the winner has been in no rush to claim the prize. well, that person is running out of time. the numbers were drawn in october. and if the prize isn't claimed by mid-april, all bets are off. anna werner has the details. >> i'm trying to figure out who won the mega millions jackpot. it's crazy that we have a winner. >> reporter: excitement and intrigue spread across south carolina after it was revealed in october the winning ticket of the more than $1.5 billion jackpot was bought at this store in the small town of simpsonville. >> good attention and good for the community, you know. >> reporter: the announcement was met with celebration, but four months later, no one has claimed the prize. >> people are still asking about
