seas. this is a special edition of kpix 5 news. we begin with the measles scare in alameda county. the second to hit the area in 11 days. we are in livermore with the warning for people who eight at a busy barbecue restaurant.'s the >> reporter: it is not just a busy barbecue restaurant. the stretcher first street is always hopping even at 10:30 pm thursday night. the explosion happened saturday night between 8 pm and 11 pm that sells barbecue experience. the concern tonight for alameda county officials is who was exposed. infants under one year old, immunocompromised people, and pregnant women, are under compromise to catch measles. >> people often have more general symptoms like cough, runny nose, red eyes, and the

rash does not develop first. >> reporter: the alameda public health department is trying to track down everyone who dined at sauce before they get sick. there is a 7 to 14 day window for the windows, measles incubate. if you are at sauced at saturday night between 8 pm and 11 pm contacted doctor who should probably contact the alameda health department. on tuesday health officials in santa clara county issued a warning about an international traveler who may have exposed thousands of people to measles. this man visited 20 popular places including stanford university, the apple visitor center, several restaurants. we have a full list of the locations along with specific dates and times he was there. it is on our website at kpix.com. a four-year-old boy who found a loaded gun under bed and accidentally shot himself is in

for the second time this week a tourist has died at the grand canyon. a man from hong kong was taking photos when he slipped and fell to his death. he was visiting grand canyon west the area includes the iconic horseshoe bend. the area draws thousands of visitors every day and has a glass skywalk that juts out from the canyon wall. a bay area couple who had to be rescued from a nightmare at ca sharing their story tonight. kpix 5 caught up with them in novato. >> reporter: doctor alan goldberg and his wife susan are home now from the cruise that was supposed to be one of their bucket list items . >> we wanted to see the northern lights as one of our last major adventures. >> reporter: the couple traveled with friends to norway and were lucky enough to experience the aurora on their very first night at say. about a week into the 10 day cruise, the good look, good

>> reporter: finally a norwegian navy helicopter tried to save people. the dohl bergs happened to be standing next to injured passenger on the stretcher so they were chosen among the first to be evacuated. the couple was strapped together as the copter lowered its cable. >> all of a sudden one of the crew went like that and jumped and we were taken up into the sky up to the helicopter. >> reporter: from there it was a 10 minute trip to the shore, a hotel, and three days later a flight home. now that they are back to novato they say the way things ended it was so dramatic they have to look at pictures to remember anything else that happened on the trip . >> i have to think of a few more items of the bucket list now i don't think anything will top this. they are laughing. that's a good sign. the goldbergs got their money back. vikings as the passengers will be overnighted to go on another crew someday. an airline shut down today leaving thousands of passengers stranded. the company called wow air made

threestory 77,000 square foot office building will be transformed into avenue silicon valley. the pricing is not finalized yet. tuition for their manhattan campus gives you some clue likely in the neighborhood of $56,000 per year. that is for a two-year-old attending preschool all of two high school seniors picket is higher than other private schools nearby. only harker comes close at $51,000 a year. the promotional video for their manhattan campus shows a sparkly white cafeteria, gleaming new gymnasium, low student-teacher ratios. with campuses in shenzhen, sco paulo, online, avenue says they are a quote world school operating is one. the building in san jose located at 550 meridian avenue was purchased for $27 million cash. it looks like it could be easily transformed into
