the e his name chael. he has declined to talk on camera but we will stick around to see if he will change his mind. the suspect was arrested and charged with branding a replica. the other story this afternoon is the long-awaited robert mueller report in the hands of the public and it is giving us insight into president trump's reaction to the russia investigation. 's report is more than 400 page longs. the report is missing some portions but still reveals quite a bit. natalie? >>reporter: good afternoon. the report is now posted online on the special counsel's website for anyone to read. while the president tweeted game over, house democrats disagree. in a new statement nancy poulos he said the differences are stark between the attorney general said on the issue of obstruction and what special
12:03 pm
counsel mueller said. in fact they want mueller to testify before congress as soon as possible. >> reporter: the attorney general released a redacted version of the report on russian interference in 2016. according to the report the investigation established multiple links between trump campaign officials and individuals tied to the russian government but ultimately the investigation did not establish coordination or conspiracy. >> we now know that the russian operatives who perpetrated these schemes did e cooperation of president trump or the trump campaign. >> despite the outcome president trump in may 2017 said this is the end of my presidency when told that a special counsel had been appointed according to the report. in june the report adds the president directed then white house counsel don mcgann to call the acting attorney general and say mueller must be
12:04 pm
removed because of conflicts of interest. in the end mueller made no determination of whether the president had obstructed justice. leaving that decision to william barr. >> the president to know act to deprive the special counsel of the documents and witnesses necessary to complete his investigation. >>reporter: at a white house event thursday he reacted to the conclusions. >> this should never happen to another president again. >> reporter: the justice department says it plans to provide a limited number of congress members with a copy of the report with fewer reductions in the public version. the democrats are not satisfied. >> the report contradicts the president as it does the attorney general in their sunshine spin and whitewash. >> reporter: democratic leaders have called on mueller to testify publicly about the findings as soon as possible. >> reporter: they have also asked attorney general barr to
12:05 pm
testify here in early may and that is expected to happen as well. chairman nadler said that despite reports that the less redacted version of the available, he has not received this information and he said he will go ahead and issue a subpoena for the full report and underlying evidence. >> thank you. the report is based on more than 2800 subpoenas, 500 search warrants and approximately 500 witness interviews. >> reporter: our political recorder joins us now. what are the nature takeaways? >> one thing i brought here has to do with the reductions. i saw some pitchers of the redacted pages and there are a number that are heavily redacted having to do with the russian hacking scheme.
12:06 pm
we are not seeing are a lot of reductions related to the president and his actions. those pages that you see blacked out have to do with the internal workings of the russian apparatus used to try to interfere with the 2016 election as an indicator that the fbi and other agencies are continuing to look at those issues. i want to make that clear. the second thing is, i know that for me one thing i was looking for, why did mueller punt on the issue of construction? what is the problem? here's what the report says. it says that the reason the mueller team did not say whethe a e is because a ttin president cannot be dragged whe president committed a crime and that he doesn't have an avenue to exonerate himself by going
12:07 pm
to criminal trial. for that reason they said we will not make a decision and we will not say he committed a crime because that would be unfair because we don't allow an avenue for him to clear his name. was not a lack of evidence or confusion about that. later the attorney general said there was no obstruction. i want to be clear where the disconnect is. so, are coming up charges a possibility? right now the house is the only body they could charge a sitting president otherwise he would have to be out of office before the charges could be, any charges based on this or anything else. so, we will not have, charges against the city president. the only thing you can do is impeach. while the house might find a crime was committed to sanity, the senate would probably not remove. it is unclear if the house will move forward this. >> we have more homework to do. we appreciate the insight. you can read the mueller report online. we posted it on our website and
