tesla came barreling through. anne? >> reporter: yes. major damage done to the business on moraga road, marshall steel cleaners. there's no glass left. this was smashed in by the car. you can see the dry cleaning machinery damaged. they're not sure how much damage because some of the glass, some of the door, metal framing is just resting on the machinery at this point. even the wall over here moved about an inch when this crash happened because of the weight of the machinery, so a huge mess. i want to show you what this looked like right after the car crashed in at 9:45 this morning. these were some pictures taken by a witness. you can see the car is just wedged here into the store front. again, it did run into some phom

owner of the dry cleaner shop who was here when this happened. here's what he had to say. >> boom, and i saw the plume. >> plumes of smoke. >> yes. >> reporter: then he came out to find the car here. he said the driver of that tesla was one of his customers. he sad he had no idea, that the car accelerated from the front parking spot from in front of the building. police said this just happens to be a routine crash. anne makovec reporting. the uber and lyft drivers marred from headquarters to city hall. >> drivers are on strike around

the country including locations in england and australia. >> drivers arfor changes including better benefits, more transparency and higher wages. >> we have more on the driver's demands. >> reporter: we're here at uber headquarters where the drivers are protesting. not nearly enough of the money is going to the actual drivers. they said over the last few years their wages have gone down and they want other kinds of businesses like worker's comp and the ability to understand when and why they get deplatformed. that suspicious kicked off the platform for a period of time. they also want to be able to form something akin to an

employee's union. while we've got some folks here and folks honking, there are fewer people here than they anticipated. still, we talked to one driver earlier today. he said it's amazing that this many drivers can get together. >> when you know that the collaborative effort that's done into this and the multiple cities and internationally as well, for a group that's very isolated and come together this big, that should tell people there's a real big problem and it's systematic. >> reporter: uber has admitted decreased driver pay recontractly. they want to make the books look good for the ipo. it's unclear if the driver pay will go back up. the company has issued a statement saying it values its

continues with day three pass derick almena and max harris face charges. >> reporter: after the questioning from yesterday, the alameda fire department member was deemed a wit niece. avilla is the assistant fire marshal. this is the first time he has ever been defined as an expert in court. the judge sad he qualified as an expert, with one limitation, on fire and building codes. he testified about how many exits like the ghost ship warehouse should have as well as proper lighting. later he is expected to comment on the city's relationship with the ghostship regarding inspection and when they were

done . defense attorneys for max harris and derick almena said the cause of the fire is arson. bart police made multiple arrests after phones were snatched at several stations. bart police arrested ten juveniles at 12th street and powell stations. the suspects are between that 14 and 16 years old. no word on any possible weapons involved and no reports of injuries. new at noon fremont police released evidence on officer- involved shootings. the first one in april of last year is one example of the videos uploaded to the department's new transparency portal. it's in an effort to comply with the state law that went into effect in january. it requires police departments to disclose evidence in less shootings. our cameras were also at the scene moments after the shooting. police said they stopped a

accused of gunning down his students will be in court. 18-year-old devon erickson and another started shooting. kendrick castillo was killed. eight others were injured. in the past erickson talked about causing harm and sadness. the fbi is investigating. in washington right now, the house judiciary committee is holding a hearing on whether to hold the attorney general in contempt of congress. this comes from william barr's decision not to comply with the subpoena to turn over the full mueller report. hours before the vote president trump exerted executive privilege. >> well, nothing is ever off the table, but i would say that everyone should take a deep breath and be careful about

all right. welcome back. let's take a live look from chopper 5 flying over the street in san francisco on market street where uber and lyft drivers are protesting today what they say is low pay. take a look at this new video from contra costa county. he pulled over a stolen video. that is when the k9 officer took the initiative. he lept through the suspect's window to make sure the suspect wasn't going years old, yolk is newest member but reportedly doing very well. roads are expected to be busy with the warriors and the sharks will play a do or die game. >> it's going to be busy, not only because of the games but it's happening around rush

hour. it's also happening on a day that uber is on strike. let's take a look at what we have going on. the reds versus the athletics. first pitch at 7:07 and the rockets versus the warriors. that parking lot is going to be packed. 880 is going to be packed as well. the best bet is to take mass transit. on the south bay, the sharks, game seven, avalanche versus the sharks. the puck is dropping at 6:00 tonight. same thing here. this is in the middle of your rush hour commute. this is going to be tricky to get down there. my suggestion for all of these games, take mass transit. we're not expecting major delays. this will be your best around. if you insist on taking your own car, my suggestion is you need to leave very early. president trump is downplaying a "new york times"

report that claims he lost more than a billion dollars from 1985 to 1994. he said real estate owners were entitled to writeoffs. it was sport. the times investigation found in multiple years trump appeared to have lost money more than any other individual taxpayer, but one of the president's lawyers told the times the reports are inaccurate and that tax records show the president didn't pay income taxes for eight of the ten years. this comes as he keeps to keep his current tax return out of the handles of congress. that issue is likely headed to the courts. let's see how wall street is doing. it's up 123 points. all right. the secret is out. prince harry and meghan markle

who's dealing with severe weather, especially in texas. here's a live look at the camera. we're getting that clearing. enjoy the sunshine. temperatures are running in the upper 50s to the upper 60s. so temps are warming up. here's the satellite and radar view. this low pressure system will move in from the northeast and that will bring the chance for a few showers late thursday into friday, but for today we're looking at plenty of sunshine. for tomorrow w clouds return, especially along the coast and parts of the bay. in the noon looking at mostly sunny sky else. out to the east tracking a few showers. as we go through thursday night into friday during the day, there's a chance to see a few spotty showers. that's a possibility. you could see wraparound moisture. for today temperatures in the
