top san francisco, a col loss sal mess. >> reporter: traffic came to a screeching halt. all lanes are open. chp said a tanker truckloaded with cooking oil caught fire on the westbound 80 connector. they were able to put the fire out fast. >> it turned out to be a tire fire that did not ignite any of the cooking oil that was inside of the tanker. no oil was spilled on the roadway. the roadway was shut down completely for an hour and a half. >> reporter: but the residual damage lasted longer as the cleanup process took place. you command see how clogged up it got on the connector and on alternate routes. the tanker was full of cooking oil, which meant all of it had to be transferred to a

different tanker. >> they're laying down either kitty litter or absorb want absorbant. >> reporter: it lasted a little over four hours. >> and the chp said no one was injured in the fire. a massive fire is finally contained after burning through a stockton lumber yard. they fought the flames for hours as stacks of wooden pallets fed the fire. >> reporter: three major fires in the stockton area are starting to raise suspicion. investigators are trying to determine if it was set or connected to two previous fires. neighbors are connected it to the company and the homeless. >> over by the train tracks. they live over there and they start -- they light fires to

keep warm or whatever. that's what's happened every time. it should not be in town. now my kids are missing school and everything because of this. >> reporter: the pallets were placed far enough apart to actually slow down the spread of the fire and prevent injuries. >> the stacking and the columns, the roads are pretty good. that's one of the reasons why it didn't move horizontally. unlike the one a couple weeks ago, this one is pretty tight. we're able to get a got amount of water. we didn't have electrical wires fall down. >> reporter: investigators will be out today and tomorrow to see if the fire was

tensions with china. but those tensions are heating up with the u.s. preparing for another round of tariffs on chinese goods. natalie brown reports it's about to hit you in the wallet. >> reporter: president trump is defending his tough stance in the escalating trade war with china. >> we are, again, in a very, very strong position. they want to make a deal. it could absolutely happen. >> reporter: monday beijing announced tariffs on $60 billion of goods starting next month following the administration's move to hike tariffs on $200 billion worth of goods. president trump is planning to impose another round on another $300 billion of chinese imports. analysts said this who make items that americans regularly buy as much as 25% higher. >> that could be a lot of different things including the clothing that you buy.

farmers their jobs. >> many economists believe this will take 90 days before we see price hikes at stores. the man accused of throwing a 5-year-old boy from the balcony of the mall of america has pleaded guilty. he faces 19 years in prison for attempted first-degree-murder. he reportedly told authorities he was at the mall looking for someone to kill when he threw the child off the third floor of the mall last month. the child suffered head trauma and multiple broken bones. amazingly he did survive. >> a team police department is defending an officer's use of force on an unarmed woman. an officer with the baytown police near houston gets into an argument with a woman while patrolling an apartment complex. the officer tries tasing the woman but she wrestles the

taser away. that's when the officer opens fire. >> if someone takes your taser away from you, there's a very good likelihood this could escalate and get bad for the officer. >> the woman was shot five times and died at the scene. the woman said she was pregnant. tiger woods is getting hit with a wrongful death lawsuit after a man died in a car crash. the lawsuit claims that enens burger drank an excessive amount of alcohol and crashed had his car. >> tiger, erica and the woods staff all knew nick had a disease. despite this knowledge, they served him drinks for three hours, fueling his addiction. >> both woods and his girlfriend erica herman are
