employees. authorities say 35-year-old david swanson admitted to driving to the san bruno headquarters earlier this month with a gun. he was released from jail yesterday after posting bail and he faces charges of making terroristic threats. it comes a year after a woman shot and wounded three people on the youtube campus before taking her own life. and alameda county, thousands of teachers are on strike. for the first time in the school district history. we explain why the contract deal has yet to be reached. storming a parent tells me for the kids who showed up at school, they were kept in the pavilion for hours and actually watched an animated movie instead of going to class, causing some parents to pull students out of school. these teachers say they never wanted to do this, but they feel like the district has left them no choice. >> it is a magical place, and it makes me really sad, as you

can see that we have gotten to this low point. >> brenda moreno has taught at james logan high school for 34 years and is one of nearly 600 teachers marching at the 12 schools in the new haven unified school district today. the teacher average salary of $96,000, the highest in all of alameda county, but marino says that is misleading. >> the district pays zero into our healthcare, so we buy it ourselves, for my husband and i between dental and medical and the portion i put in for medicare, that's $20,000 off the top for me. for breakfast teachers association was a 10% raise, but the school districts is the best if you do is a 1% raise as part of the teacher salary schedule and a one-time 3% payment while some parents sympathize with the teachers, they say striking at this time
