they're calling cruise ships from being banned from using a busy venice canal. it comes after it slammed into a tour boat. take a look. as you can see it blared its horn. they were hurt as they tried to flee. that includes an american woman. the cruise line said the ship was about to dock at a passenger terminal when it had a mechanical problem. rescuers now say the chance of finding eight climbers missing in the himalayas in their words are bleak. they include two americans who tried to climb a 21,000 peak s . they began climbing two weeks

trump administration steps down. those are the latest headlines on the "morning news." the "washington post" reports kevin hassett, the top economist, is set to leave the white house. he played a key role in shaping the 2017 tax bill and has been a staunch leader of mr. trump's policies. he fights as there are growing trade battles with mexico and china. "the hill" told the white house the military will not be politicized after the "uss mccain" incident. that involved a directive from the white house to the nerve to keep the ship named after the late senator john mccain out of the president's sight during his recent visit to japan. a pentagon spokesman said pat shanahan directed his chief of staff to send a message to the white house that the military should not be used for political purposes.

"the seattle times" says more than 300 boeing 737s are going to be inspected for faulty parts. the faa issued a statement yesterday alerting airlines and international regulators that certain wing parts have been improperly manufactured and must be replaced within ten days. now, this covers both older model 737s and the newer currently grounded 737 max jet. the faulty parts are not connected with the two deadly max jet crashes that killed 346 people. our cbs baltimore station wjz-tv says an american couple found dead at a caribbean resort died from respiratory disorders. that's according to police. 49-year-old cynthia day and her fiance nathaniel holmes, 63, were found dead inhe room.

dispute. in the end the dow tumbled 354 points, the s&p 500 fell 36 points, and the nasdaq dropped 114 points. stock futures have been down after china blamed the latest collapse in trade talks. they said it has kept its words throughout the talks and would honor its commitment if a trade deal was met. meanwhile they were to discuss with mike pompeo. mr. trump said last week the u.s. would impose a 5% tariff to pressure mexico to block migrants from crossing the border. google services are back up and running this morning after a four-hour outage yesterday. the company said youtube, gmail, google calendar, and other accounts stopped working or slowed down around 3:00 p.m. eastern time. it experienced high levels of congestion in the eastern u.s. affecting multiple services. we could soon be seeing the end of apple's itunes nearly two decades after it launched.

the company's expected to announce at its developer conference today it will silence the all-encompassing media app. itunes will reportedly be replaced by three new apps. apple did not return requests for comment. and at the weekend box office, godzilla took a bite out of the competition. >> you've got to be kidding. >> "godzilla: king of the monsters" finished first in america, but lukewarm interest took its toll. the film made $49 million in ticket sales, which is about half of what the previous godzilla opened with in 2014. the new godzilla movie faired better internationally, especially in china. now. let's get a check on the forecast with darren who is in for mary today. >> this is the week we start a warm-up. it will feel like summer, particularly tuesday and wednesday, but today, we notice a little bit of a warm-up. that doesn't mean we don't have low clouds. this is the scene towards downtown san jose. we still wake up to low grade clouds. we aren't getting rid of that entirely. there will just be less of that over the next few days and higher temperatures, particularly by tomorrow. this is the current number outside sitting in the low to mid 50s in most locations and 51 in the city, 56 in concorde and you can see have the marine layer will burn back by the time you get to 11:00 this morning, that gives us more blue sky once again. it never really clears entirely at the coast. we've been doing that for the last week. 67 for the daytime high in the city, that's the san francisco numbers. that's the rest of your numbers across the bay area, mid-80s inland and we will have that warm-up comi
