. now at noon, parts of the bay area finally feeling some relief just a bit after several days of intense heat. good afternoon. i'm kenny choi. >> i'm michelle griego. a live look at ocean beach. a cool down is there. inland spots are very hot and coming down from triple digits.

>> mary has a look at what's on top for your wednesday. >> we're starting to see the cool down along the coast and the bay because of the on shore flow beginning to kick in. oakland, san francisco, mid 70s. a big difference compared to the last few days with the record heat. it is still hot in concord, 94 right now. and also for more -- livermore. and upper 80s in santa rosa. and i want to show you the reason why. with the on shore flow, happen moon bay at 12 miles per hour out of the west, southwest. westerly winds at 12 in san francisco. this is the start of a bigger cool down through the week. the 24-hour temperature change, cooler in many locations come compared to yesterday at this time. we'll talk about when temperatures are back to near average coming up. olan

h land in vallejo. the flames broke out this morning. firefighters were putting out the hot spots. the cause of the fire is under investigation. and search teams continue to look for a young man last seen yesterday on a fishing boat on lake del valle. jackie ward is in livermore where crews are racing against the clock. >> reporter: the search is ongoing for a person who is a horse jockey from san francisco. he went overboard yesterday. after hours of looking for the young man last night, the search resumed around 7:00 this morning with divers from the sheriff's office leading the way. they're looking for a man enjoying the hot weather tuesday when he went overboard and did not come back up. >> usually what the dive team

utilizes is sweep of the lake and pin point where to start the dives. >> reporter: with the warm weather season just beginning, a lot of people on the water and this is a reminder to be smart. >> it's summer. it's hot. people want to get this the water. sometimes, the skills don't match what they started from last summer. again, we want to make sure the priority of the park district is making sure the patrons are safe. >> reporter: a similar incident happened on saturday in the same spot at the lake. a person fell out of a boat and were not wearing a life jacket. the victim was recovered in 44 feet of water. a chaplain is on scene with the family preparing them for the worst. the park district is stressing if you go on the water to always wear a life jacket. jackie ward, kpix5. both the victim from saturday and the current missing person were outside the guarded swim area.

and new, the former sailing coach at stanford is facing a judge for accepting bribes in the college admission scandal. john vandemoer accepted $600,000 in bribes from parents to accept students at recruits. he is the first person to be sentenced in connection with the scam. prosecutors recommendings 13 months. and 600 volunteers joined the mayor to clean up the city streets today. mckayla maroney has more on the effort to start a cultural change. >> reporter: anyone who has been to san francisco has noticed how dirty the streets can be from garbage to drug needles to human waste. >> it's about time they keep it clean. >> reporter: famous wayne runs a shoe shine shop on market street. . we have problems here. homeless people here. . >> reporter: today, hundreds of volunteers turned out for the

inaugural love our city hospitality and tourism cleanup day. tourism is a $10 million industry for the city and the city has gotten bad press for the state of the streets. is this going to put a dent in the huge problem we have? >> i think that part of the huge problem that we have is not just about people cleaning up the streets, it's about making sure people don't litter or dirty the streets in the first place. >> reporter: the problem? >> it's behavior. sadly, it's people living on the streets. >> reporter: he cleans the streets every day as a worker for the benefit district and is thankful for the help. >> it's not about how many pounds of trash they pick up, how many poles they paint. it's about getting to know neighbors and being out there and showing this is a cared for place. >> reporter: wayne tries to take care of the area around his business. >> i got to worry about famous wayne.

cooperate with the subpoenas. and donald trump, jr., testified for the second time before the intelligence committee. when asking if he was trying to correct his previous testimony, he said he was not worried about committing perjury. the republican chairman of the committee issued a subpoena for him following the release of the mueller report. and demonstrates in hong kong faced off with police. . >> reporter: police fired tear gas and rubber bullets to push angry protesters back in the central government offices to stop debate an a extradition bill. it would allow criminal suspects and even tourists to be sent to mainland china for trial. if i did something bad, i could be extradited to china? >> you don't have to do anything bad.

. a driver in tennessee blaming this on a sneezing fit. this video showing his car flipping several times and skidding down the road. the man was trapped in the vehicle. police say a group of golfers and construction workers jumped into action and rescued him just in time. they flipped the suv upright and got him out moments before the car caught fire. ignition. liftoff. >> this spacex falcon 9 rocket launched this morning despite the foggy conditions northwest of los angeles. they launched three satellites for the canadian space agency and the rocket landed back on earth.

the officials say this will help to monitor the impact of climate change in the northern part of the country. and uber wants to take the ride share service to new heights in the bay area. they're partnering with a real estate developer business to get the electric passenger aircraft up and running. it's called uber air. . here's what one of the sky ports would look like. they want to test next year and make it available to riders in 2023 with the first cities being dallas and los angeles. more on this at 5:00 and online at kpix.com. and uber is testing new ventures on the ground, including self-driving vehicle. this is after a series of delays, set backs, and one deadly accident involving an autonomous vehicle. we got a look inside the testing facility. . >> reporter: driving downmake-
