>> it is the last chapter for the team. good morning from the studio 57 newsroom at cbs news headquarters here in new york. good to be with you. i'm anne-marie green. president trump is drawing criticism this morning after saying he would be willing to listen if a foreign government offered damaging information about a political rival. mr. trump said he would not necessarily tell the fbi about it. the news comes amid investigations stemming from his campaign's interacts with russians for the 2016 election. laura podesta is here in new york with how presidential candidates are reacting. laura, good morning. >> good morning. front-runner joe biden had strong words on twitter saying in part. senator camela harris said the president is a national security threat and senator elizabeth warren renewed her calls to

>> reporter: authorities in the dominican republic said david ortiz was the target of a nearly $8,000 hit job. the guanman who shot the red sox player in the back at a bar is in custody along with several other suspects. authorities released surveillance video showing the gunman approaching. the police held up an evidence bag containing the gun believed to be used in the shooting. surveillance video, they say, shows the gunman was riding a motorcycle driven by man, 25-year-old eddy vladimir feliz garcia. they're still investigating this shooting, including who ordered the hit on ortiz and what their motive was. at least four suspects are at large. ortiz is a native.

he visits his father and sister often and travels out security. police in texas have arrested a suspect in connection with a string of murders apparently targeting transgender women. yesterday kendrick liles was charged with killing a woman. liles was also named as a person of interest in the death of another transgender woman whose body was found in dallas lake. hong kong says no time has s been set for a debate that's caused large-scale protests. demonstrators are outrhamed over a proposal to send suspects to mainland china for trial. yesterday riot police met them with tear gas and rubber bullets. more than 70 people have been hurt in the violence. and back home the house oversight committee voted in favor of holding attorney yen

"the new york times" reports oscar-winning actor cuba gooding jr. is expected to turn himself in today after groping a woman at manhattan bar. gooding junior allegedly grabbed a woman's breast while in a bar sunday night. he says he was at the bar but denies touching anyone. the bbc reports a 5-year-old boy has died from ebola after traveling across the border from the congo. nearly 1,400 people have died there in the second deadliest epidemic in history. his grandmother tested positive

for the disease and died last night. his younger brother also has tested positive. the world health organization is considering whether to declare a global health emergency. the z"the san diego union tribune" says the wife of california congressman duncan hunler has agreed to change her not guilty plea after the couple was indicted last year for allegedly misusing campaign funds. margaret hunter is expected to appear in court today. she worked as her husband's campaign manager and they're accused of using at least $250,000 in campaign cash for personal experiences including a trips to italy, meals at expensive restaurants, and groceries. experts say a change of plea means she is almost now almost certainly working with prosecutors. and the washington times says nasa paid tribute to the woman who helped put men on the moon.

the dow closed down 43 points, the s&p 500 lost 5 point, and the nasdaq dropped 29 points. ford is recalling more than 41 million vehicles. the recall covered 1.2 million suvs from 2011 to 2017. ford says a rear suspension tow link can cause problems with steering control. the automaker is also calls 12,000 2013 f-150 pickups. they unintentionally downshifting into first gear. meanwhile johnson & johnson ordered to pay in a cancer case. a california woman will be awarded $4.8 million from each company. the woman says she developed a type of lung cancer after using both johnson & johnson baby powder and colgate's cashmere bouquet.
