violent, injuring passengers and sending a flight attendant flying to the ceiling. good morning from the studio 57 newsroom at cbs news headquarters in new york, good to be with you. i'm anne-marie green. this morning the president of iran said this morning his country will not wage war against anyone, this after fears of confrontation. yesterday iran said it will no longer comply with the nuclear deal that keeps it from making nuclear weapons and later the u.s. announced it's sending an additional 1,000 troops to the middle east. what is the role these additional troops are expected to play? >> they would provide greater defense against tougher muscle attacks and surveillance. they also shared new images they say links iran to the recent oil

tanker attacks in the gulf of hamas. >> reporter: the pentagon said yesterday an additional 1,000 troops are being deployed to the middle east. patrick shanahan said it was in response to attacks on ships near the orchestrated of hamas. the announcement came after teheran warned it it would soon exceed its agreed to limit on enriched uranium stock piles. connected to the iran nuclear deal u.s. with drew from last year. iran's energy spokesman said it it would initially power a reactor but eventually be enriched to just below weapon's grade strength.

isaac clyde was discharged from the army in 2017 and achieved the rank of private first class. what happens just moments after clyde opens fire. >> reporter: a dallas morning news photographer captured this close up of the gunman police identified as isaac clyde. he opened fire on a court house building where more than 300 people were at work. >> holy crap. [ gun shots] >> reporter: don miles was about to enter the building when gun shots rang out. >> it was just shots. maybe 10 to 15 shots all rapid shooting. >> reporter: tim brown captured video from his nearby apartment. >> he didn't just drive up and decide to shoot. >> reporter: federal protective service officers engaged clyde and shot him as he ran across the parking lot. >> he had more than five 30-round magazines on his

person. a large powerful weapon at his disposal. they shut down the surrounding street and used a bomb squad robot to blow up the car. the fbi says they have no motive for the attack but searching the suspect's social media for clues. at least three people have been arrested at a shooting for the toronto raptor's victory rally. gun fire broke out in downtown toronto. they were celebrating canada's first ever championship win. an estimated 2 million people were along the parade route. >> a bunch of people were getting trampled over again and people were running over the top of each other. >> a motive for the shooting is under investigation. a family is suing the city

that was going to end up? >> i have no idea. i thought something bad was going to happen to me and my children at that moment. i thought i was going to be shot like he told me. >> reporter: the family said they want the officers involved fired. in an interview with affiliate, chief williams acknowledged the officers crossed the line. >> today we're going through the process of identifying -- yes, there was misconduct, some egregiousness absolutely. >> reporter: phoenix accused in 2018 were involved in more police-involved shooting than anywhere in the country. >> my agency is aware of the truth. if there's something we can learn, let's learn and fix it. a health care facility is under scrutiny again after

on a flight from kokomo to kosovo. some passengers on the flight said they were burned by hot water thrown from the cart. a spokesperson from the wrarpt the plane landed in switzerland said 10 passengers were hospitalized with minor injuries. harvard is denying an offer to a parkland shooter survivor. president trump is vowing mass immigration arrests. migrants who have been issued final deportation notices. the "new york times" said new york state passed the bill to allow undocumented people to obtain driver's licenses. he expressed concern of a data base that federal authorities could use to deport them. but the state 's attorney general said there are safeguards to prevent that. several clerks denounced the bill. at least one vowed to defy it. republicans say licenses are not a right for just anyone. >> they're a privilege all of us. we're talking about writing laws for people here illegally. >> new york joins a dozen other states in washington d.c. which allow illegal immigrants to drive. harvard university rescinded its offer to a survivor of the parkland florida school shooting over racist comments he made when he was 16. he's also a gun rights activist

made the comments online in text messages a few months before the deadly school shooting. he said he apologized and told harvard officials that they were idiotic and hurtful and don't represent who he is now and tweeted harvard decided someone can't grow, especially after a life-altering event like a shooting is deeply concerning. many institutions should understand growth, it's harvard. harvard does not comment on admissions decisions. and our affiliate says an explosion levelled a house in new jersey. yesterday house exploded and burst into flames in richfield. wn w trapp owner was trapped der a ga roof. off duty officer who lived nearby and first responders. the man suffered burns and lacerations.
