57 newsroom at cbs headquarters here in new york. good to be with you. i'm anne-marie green. this morning president trump is facing nuclear issues on two fronts. iran has officially breached the 2015 nuclear deal which the u.s. withdrew from last year. meanwhile, north korea continues to produce materiel for nuclear weapons despite an historic meeting with president trump over the weekend. laura podesta is here in new york. how is the president handling the threats? >> reporter: well, the president's message is no message. you'll hear from him in a moment. to backtrack, the reason why iran says it's no longer complying with one of the main provisions of its nuclear deal is that it's trying to pressure russia, china, and the e.u. into offering some relief from the economic sanctions imposed by president trump. iran says it has exceeded its agreed to limit on enriched urm stockp. the announcement marks the first time tehran has acknowledged breaching its 2015 nuclear agreement.

the claim was confirmed by the united nations. a spokesman for the secretary general urged tehran to try to salvage the deal. >> such action by the republic of iran would not help preserve the plan, nor secure the tangible economic benefits for the iranian people. >> reporter: israeli prime minister benjamin netanyahu said iran had taken what he called significant steps toward developing nuclear weapons. netanyahu urged the e.u. to reimpose sanctions. >> do it. just do it. unilaterally withdrew the u.s. from the agreement last year. mr. trump has since imposed sanctions that have hobbled the iranian economy. >> no, no message to iran. they know what they're doing. they know what they're playing with. and i think they're playing with fire. so no message to iran whatsoever. >> reporter: yesterday the white house issued a statement that said tehran was violating the terms of the nuclear agreement. quote, even before the deal's existence.

seriously was the one-word response from the iranian foreign minister. it's unclear what the white house was suggesting. iran was officially in compliance with the agreement when the u.s. pulled out from it. and iran says it will further enrich its uranium starting next week if the european union fails to offer it a new nuclear deal. a lot of threats, anne-marie. >> indeed. laura podesta here in new york. thank you. the u.s. border patrol is under fire this morning after inappropriate posts surfaced in a secret facebook group for current and former employees. members allegedly posted racist and sexist material about migrants. and this comes as lawmakers renew their outrage over the border crisis after touring migrant detention facilities yesterday. nikole killion reports. >> reporter: members of the congressional hispanic caucus visited migrant detention facilities in texas and expressed outrage. new york congresswoman cortez

said women at a facility are being mistreated. >> these women were being told by cbp officers to drink out of the toilet. they were drinking water out of the toilet. >> reporter: customs and border patrol is also investigating inappropriate posts on a facebook group for 9,500 current and former employees. according to the media group pro publica, one member posted a picture of a dead migrant and his daughter and asked if it was fake because the bodies were so clean. in another post group members responded with indifference to the death of a 16-year-old guatemalan migrant. "if he dies, he dies." >> that shows unfortunately that there are many within cbp who become desensitized to the point of being dangerous to the migrants in their care. >> reporter: late monday, the president signed a $4.6 billion aid package for the border and defended cbp.

>> the border patrol, they're patriots, they're great people. they love our country. they know what's coming. >> reporter: preside tru sugghee forward with immigration raids after the july 4th holiday. cbs news, washington. a massive cleanup effort is underway in hong kong after protesters vandalized a legislative building. yesterday, protesters sprayed pro-democracy slogans in the chamber and defaced portraits of lawmakers. police in riot gear used teargas to confront demonstrators. the protests were sparked by a government attempt to change extradition laws to allow suspects to be sent to china for trial. the faa is analyzing the cockpit voice recorder from a small plane that crashed in texas. it plunged into a hangar shortly after takeoff sunday outside dallas. all ten people on board including two teenagers and their parents died. mireya villarreal reports.

we had an accident on the field. >> reporter: the private plane crashed at 9:11 a.m. killing all ong those who died was a sophomore in high school and her brother, a middle school student. they were traveling with their mother and stepfather heading to st. petersburg, florida. steven and gina feeling were also on board. investigators with the national transportation safety board found the cockpit voice recorder last night. >> our team recovered the cockpit voice recorder, and it is being downloaded now in the washington, d.c., laboratory of the ntsb. >> pilot david snell witnessed the crash. >> myself and my other pilot friend, we knew that that airplane was not producing the type of takeoff power that it typically would by the sound. plus it wasn't climbing the way it typically would. it appeared a little tail low,

and we knew that that airplane was in trouble. >> reporter: the twin engine beechcraft super king was taking off at the north end of the airport. witnesses say it lifted off the runway reaching about 500 feet when it began losing power and altitude. the plane then veered left and dropped its left wing before slamming into the hangar. when you're watching this all happen, as a pilot what is going through your mind? >> sickness. all my years of flying, i've never seen anything like that. my thoughts are for the families, the people, the lives changed, and there's nothing you can do about it. >> reporter: the airplane rolled into the building behind me and came out the front end. investigators know this because there is security video of the accident. the video won't be released until the final report is done. that could take well over a year. a preliminary report, however, could be released in the next few weeks. mireya villarreal, cbs news, addison, texas. hazmat crews are testing air

sample after a suspicious package was found at the facebook facilities in the mail and material suspected to be the nerve agent sarin. it was retested twice with one positive and one negative result. facebook evacuated four buildings, three of which have since been cleared and reopened. authorities have not positively identified the suspicious substance. southwest airlines says it will remove its grounded boeing 737 max aircraft from its flies schedule through october. it's the biggest operator of max jets. the decision comes after the faa found a new flaw not related to a software problem. last week boeing said it would take until at least september to solve 737 max software issues. southwest has been forced to cancel about 115 flights per day. the final four teams are set as the u.s. women's soccer team faces england today in their quest for the championship.
