now at noon, the bay area feeling a late summer heat wave. temperatures expected into the triple digits in some spots today. as we take a look outside, the heat is on, a heat advisory for most of the bay area right

now. north bay, east bay, even san francisco today. meteorologist mary lee has a look at the hotspots. mac our temperatures rise. we have been watching it from the morning. this is a live look at our dublin cam the 90 degrees right now. 24-hour temperature change. we are much warmer compared to yesterday at this time. the heat advisory in effect until 7 pm for most of the bay area, except for the coast. dangerous heat, especially inland topping out in the triple digits. plus a spare the air alert for the second day in a row. moderate air-quality for the rest of the region. we will talk about big changes, a cool down coming. also, the chance for showers. i will have that coming up. san francisco rec and parks is offering relief from the

heat at seven city schools, including balboa, kaufman, hamilton, martin luther king jr., mission, north beach, and sabah. santa clara county has a number of cooling centers open today as well. you can find a full list on our homepage, kpix.com. new at noon, a wild scene in santa rosa. lanes swallowed up this garage at a home on sundance street. fortunately, everyone inside got out safely. no word yet on a cost. in santa clara county, a deadly crash in mountain view shut down all northbound lanes of 85 during the morning commute. police say just before 1 am, a car was traveling the opposite direction on highway 85 northbound. it hit another car driving the correct way, causing one of the bengals to burst into flames. both drivers were killed. >> we remind people when travelgh to try

avoiding driving on the left lane. >> the lanes were shut down for about five hours. it is not clear yet whether alcohol was a factor. another major settlement involving pg&e relating to the destructive wildfires last year and in 2017. they have agreed to an $11 billion settlement from the wine country wildfires and the 2018 can't fire in butte county. these claims are based on payments made by insurance companies to victims and businesses with insurance coverage wildfire damages. the settlement is public to the approval seeing pg&e's chapter 11 case. actors felicity huffman in the cheney's game after she paid thousands of dollars to fix her daughter's is 80 answers. we are following the story. >> the decision will come down any minute, the desperate housewives actres the

courtroom right now. prosecutors want her to spend 30 days in prison for paying to have the answers of her daughter's s.a.t. corrected. she was arrived in boston with her husband, actor william h macy, she pleaded guilty in may to fraud charges. she admitted she paid $15,000 to a proctor to have her daughter's answers on her s.a.t. exam corrected. in a letter ahead of her sentencing, she said she felt shame for what she did admitting she had broken the law, deceives the educational community, and betrayed her daughter. her legal team argues she was only a customer in a broader scheme orchestrated by others. prosecutors say she was driven by a sense of entitlement or moral. our analyst thinks felicity huffman will not serve jail time. that doesn't mean other defendants should breathe a sigh of relief. >> felicity huffman is the
