we know he is here to fund raise for his reelection campaign. >> we have coverage of his visit today. let's began with where the president just landed. >> reporter: air force one touching down a little bit after 11:00 a.m. this morning they are on schedule as we have been told he would be arriving. there was a small crowd of people to greet him. he was greeted on the ground by the republican national committee california r.ai he did a couple of fist bumps to the audience away from the airfield. he got into his limousine and came through the main entrance. there were several groups of people on the street some supporters and some not supporters. you can imagine his visit here is causing a lot of people to take notice and find out

exactly what his plans are. they would like to protest. this may because the last time he visited california income in 2016, he intended a fundraiser and came in through a back entrance because of protesters blocking the street. he was seen walking through a ditch and getting through offense to get to his event in san jose. a rally happen later in june there were several people that had been beaten up, bruised, and a strong and things like that. a lot of questions about where he is and where he will be going. we will have coverage on that as the day goes on. >> reporter: we continue our coverage with jackie, in the belly where people are protesting the president today. >> reporter: the president was right on schedule.

these protesters a couple hundred were here and a lot of them lined up since 10 a clock this morning. i spoke to some who came from grass valley. the moment when the president drove by. it happened quickly as they sped down alpine road causing protesters to be caught offguard. they hope he sees the balloons on display today. he did not disclose details about his trip. they defend the president for not revealing his plant locations day. he has not made welcome here by law enforcement or city leaders. last time he was here in 2016, was when he was a candidate. he is holding a reelection campaign just down the street from here. protesters told us why they're here today. >> it's too show he's not welcome in california. we have a diverse state. we believe in love we don't

over the location where they say the president's fundraiser will be held in the valley. he is expected to quietly raise cash in the valley. right now it tent has been set up in the backyard of this home. they spotted extra security including uniform officers on the ground. >> in the area today housing and urban development secretary ben carson is expected to focus on homelessness crisis in santa clara county. people are impacted by homelessness say they welcome any help from the feds. they are still working on the issue saying intervention won't be good. >> trump is talking about getting homeless off the streets is disgusting. the language he uses is in laboratory and doesn't sound like a real strategy to help people. >> some people living in camps tell us they don't want to be forced into federally ran shelters. we will have more on the president's visit coming up on news at 5:00 and kpix.com.

the judiciary committee is holding its first impeachment hearing on the president. taking a look from the campaign manager answering questions from members of congress. lawmakers are growing today. he will testify on mueller's report on russian interference. the confidant is to not answer questions about events after he was elected. they continue to deny any collusion. >> it's fallen apart. in conclusion it's not to say. this country has been over the this investigation and it's clear the investigation was populated by trumpeters who have their own agenda. >> they refuse to answer questions citing the white house order.

in just a few minutes in san jose there will be a press conference to discuss the pop possibility of banning natural gas in new construction. it will be the biggest city to do so. but not the only one so far. the city passed the band earlier last month. the city leaders in san jose say the plan is to be laid out in a couple of minutes pertaining to new construction requiring to be all electric to cut pollution to buildings and homes and move into other areas. they will follow the footsteps of the park. not the only city to do so. san francisco is considering this as well is the city of santa rosa. we have a crew on the scene right now covering this and

they have more tonight at 5:00. hundreds of kaiser permanente workers are striking outside executive office in oakland. all over a contract dispute. they have worked without a contract for nearly a year now. they are planning a weeklong strike starting october 14. the union has not agreed to a new contract. they are moving forward on key initiatives around staffing and development. that is the right thing to do for our patients and therapists . several cruisers on the to an emergency today in south san francisco high-rise under construction. officials use heavy rescue equipment to reach a patient suffering a medical emergency. no word on the condition. a homeless man accused of attacking a woman outside of her condo return to court for his preliminary hearing. he was denied bail last month
