good morning from the studio 57 newsroom at cbs headquarters here in new york. good to be with you. i'm anne-marie green. we begin this morning with the democratic presidential debate where for the first time senator elndtook center stage last night in westerville, ohio, just outside of columbus. warren who's rising in theol faced repeated criticism from her democratic rivals. the candidates agreed on one thing -- they supported the impeachment inquiry into president trump. danya bacchus is in westerville. what were the biggest takeaways from the debate? >> reporter: anne-marie, the three-hour debate played out as expected with the focus on topics of health care, joe biden's son, impeachment, and syria. last night's debate started with one thing all 12 candidates agreed upon -- >> the impeachment must go forward. >> donald trump needs to be held accountable -- >> reporter: former vice president joe biden defended

violent. spain has launched an investigation into an activist group organizing the protests. an explosion caused a massive fire at a fuel storage facility in the bay area in california. it happened yesterday at newstar energy in crockett, about 30 miles northeast of downtown san francisco. thick plumes of black smoke and flames could be seen for miles. about 12,000 people were ordered to stay inside because of concerns about hazardous particles in the air. the fire burned for nearly eight hours before firefighters contained it, and the cause of the explosion is under investigation. a powerful fall nor'easter is threatening millions of americans from the mid-atlantic to new england. forecasters say torrential rain is expected to soak the northeast over the next 24 to 48 hours. that could prompt flash flooding in many areas. strong winds could also down trees and cause widespread power outages. the heaviest rain is expected parts of new england.e
