into how it started in the first place. good afternoon. i'm michelle griego. >> i'm kenny choi. firefighters just gave an update in the last hour. jackie ward is live. jackie. >> reporter: kenny, michelle, the public information officer just wrapped up a press conference about 30 minutes ago. yes, the fires are out the cleanup process begins and a cause has not been determined. fire crews finally had a chance to investigate the damage. the tanks were only filled to 1% capacity so this could have been a whole lot worse because 16.8 million-gallons of ethanol can be stored across both tanks. >> we probably dodged some bullet es here in the last 24 hours. they were mostly empty, that is a two edge sword because they have more oxygen in them when

they are empty so that would be conjecture on my part to say which way we would have been better off, but the point is at 1% capacity, those tanks capacity. >> they believe it is mostly water at this point but they are still trying to determine that. con fire said they will con fi new to saturate the area with foam so it doesn't rekindle. foam is 97% water. they have also assessed there noise longer a need to call the adjacent tanks. there is no longer a threat to the public's health and people can resume their activities. one firefighter was injured excuse he has since been relacend and he is going to be okay. jackie ward, kpix 5. san francisco has just

announced it is cutting business ties with nearly two dozen states with restricttive abortion laws including floridmassachusetts and texas. the new city ordinance bans it because of women's reproductive rights. it was supported by the mayor. the mayor saying quote we're standing up against states by limiting travel and contracting with certain states. we're sending a clear message to states that disregard the right to abortion. 22 states are added to a list of 9 that were already on the banned list due to anti-lgbt laws. >> happening now in a boston federal court, apparent is being sentenced in the college admissions scandal. she is charged with paying $15,000 to rig her son's a.c.t. examine 2017 and falsely

claiming her son is african- american. she pleaded guilty in ma to go a single count of fraud and conspiracy. his sentencing is under way right now in federal court. felicity huffman is spending her first full day in federal prison in dublin. she surrendered yesterday to begin a two week sentence for her role in the college admissions scam. a >> a live look at washington, d.c. where house leaders voted overwhelmingly to condemn president trump's withdrawal of the american forces in syria. this is turkey's president refusing a ceasefire. mike pence and mike pompeo are headed there now to convince him otherwise. president trump is threatening to hit turkey with new economic sanctions and maintains u.s. troops are not in danger. >> our soldiers are not in harm's way and they shouldn't be as two countries fate over
