violence since 2012. jackie ward kpix5. the city of livermore will consider a policy on short term rentals next year. they'll require a 30-day rental and require the owner to be in the property and monitor for renders. the faa is stepping in trying to block the tropical closure of the airport. we're talking about the airport in east san jose. ed has more on the fight between the federal agency and county leaders. the faa sent this letter to the santa clara supervisor, it strongly opposes any ban to be close this airport. i spoke with a faa supervisor on the phone. >> it's part an integrated airport system in the bay area. >> the faa said it had 168,000

take office take offs and landings last year. last year, they stopped accepting federal grants for the airport. that move could pay the way to close it by 2031 and clear space for possible low income housing. they're looking at replacement land uses, the environment effects of the airport on the surrounding community. >> agreements have been made to keep the airport open for another 11 years. the faa says it's concerned about safety at hill view. road aircraft and vehicles, because signage isn't up to par. >> that's led to a lot of situational awareness and confusion among pilots and vehicle drivers who have gone where they shouldn't go in the airfield resulting in what they call a runway incursion. >> we haven't found anything
