live from the cbs bay area studios, this is kpix 5 news. streaming on cbsn bay area, rain moving in making for a wet start to the weekend, i am kenny choi. >> and i am michelle griego, we started off with dense fog lowering the visibility. now we are talking showers as we look live at the pyramid in san francisco. >> meteorologist mary lee is tracking this for us. >> i am keeping a close eye on this weather. you can see on the doppler the rain is pushing it so let's give you a closer look at what we are experiencing now. especially for the north bay and east bay. you can see the rain along 101 as well as the east bay from hercules, phoenicia, concord

and walnut creek, richmond getting that wet weather as you put this into motion you can see shower activity pushing to the east. we have more wet weather through the afternoon, and the evening. and rain fresh, snow in the sierra. winter weather advisory until 4 am sunday because the snowfall at 6 to 10 inches of snow, the highest is 15 inches so that means travel delays likely as well for tahoe. you can see the live look in the sierra right now with that snow coming down. we will see that heavy snow as we go through the afternoon. napa police are investigating a double shooting that happened overnight, and two people ended up in the hospital. residents tell us that's just what they expect nowadays, even in downtown napa.>> reporter: two groups of people were kicked out of a local restaurant here in downtown napa when they eventually made

their way here to downtown jo's. they were quickly asked to leave and that's when things escalated on the street. early this morning, caution tape blocks of the intersection of second and main streets in downtown napa as they collected evidence and scanned for forensics. police got here after 1 this morning and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound, he was taken to the queen of the valley medical center.>> while investigating the shooting, officers were advised that a second victim who also suffered a gunshot wound arrived at the queen of the valley medical center as well. >> reporter: paul garcia has said that these times we are living in.>> it makes me think that we need to get on top of the gun issue in general. i go out to lunch most days and walk the dogs, in the daytime. and don't take any chances, for sure.>> reporter: the owner of downtown jo's says two people

came into his establishment and having a good time when two other people came in and started arguing with them. that's when his staff heard threatening language and told them all to get out.>> have a great staff, they are very experienced and they know the sign of people getting angry, language getting out of control and we will not tolerate that.>> reporter: all is quiet in downtown napa, and downtown jo's is open for lunch. joe wants to make sure his patrons know that he will always be there for them every day of the year.>> you read about these things happening in different cities and stephanie wonder, thank goodness it never happens where we are. we don't have that to say now. >> reporter: the conditions of the victims have not been released. a new suspect is at large and police are not providing a description, police believe this is an isolated incident. i met the news desk with an update on a homicide and make a decision we are following in san jose. police say that several people have been detained and are being questioned this afternoon.

the crime scene investigators spent the morning there at the scene, which was at south white road between allen rock avenue and east hill road all morning long. the shooting happened after 2 this morning. please responded and found the man shot at least once and died at the scene. they blocked off the neighborhood as they searched for suspects and for clues. they have detained several people in this case but they haven't released any information about a possible motive for the killing. nor, have they named a specific suspect. this is san jose's 32nd homicide of 2019. a student in palo alto may be facing criminal charges this afternoon after police got a tip about a potential school shooting threat at henry gunn high school. with 17-year-old made anonymous starts to open fire at the school on facebook, community members saw the post and

reported it to police last appeared he is now in custody for mental health screening. president donald trump is firing back after his historic vote of the house judiciary committee, passing two articles of impeachment against him. we are live on capitol hill, with the latest.>> reporter: hey michelle, firing back is exactly right. the president a couple of hours ago inside the oval office referred to this as bad and a scam and that the entire process is actually trivializing the impeachment for the entire country. as far as the house judiciary committee, the vote was brief but expected as members voted down the party lines 23-17 but this came as a 14 hour contentious day yesterday as members argued, trying to amend those articles of impeachment against the president.>> mr. nadler? remake the committee approved

democrat president and they will be a republican house and i suspect they will remember it.>> reporter: the full house will pass articles of impeachment next week and it goes to the republican- controlled senate for trial in january. the mitch mcconnell says the result there is a foregone conclusion. >> we all know how it's going to end, no chance. he will not be removed from office. >> reporter: he says he is coordinated with the president's lawyers, so they're all on the same page. as you just heard, the house is expected to make a full vote as early as next wednesday it will then go to a senate trial and as far as how long this trial will be, that's the contentious part between senate republicans and the president and so for the senate republicans want the truck to be relatively short while the president wanted to be drawn out bringing out as many witnesses as possible including the whistleblower and the bidens. so it is a wait and see to see what happens next.>> all right thank you. the united states
