[ no audio. ] someone at a gas station recognized him as he was getting gas. police say that people blocked him in with their cars to be

vent him from escaping. he was found with a light green 2007 santa fe that police told people to keep an eye out for. >> police working with the media and the public really efficiently effectively solves crime. this is a perfect example. >> he fled from his girlfriend's home after stabbing her last night around 10:00. the victim is bethany's mother, the little girl's mother and listed in critical condition right now after suffering from life-threatening injuries. police were called to the home after a woman was screaming. they quickly determined she had been assaulted and stabbed. he will most likely face a lot of charges including attempted murder. live in san jose, jackie ward, kpix 5. happening right now entrances to the pg&e head

quarters in san francisco are barricaded by protesters. anne makovec is live there with more on their message. anne. >> reporter: yes, they have a lot of de hands for the company and you can see they set up this bit of a show outside the company's headquarters and beyond that are the front doors where some protesters protesters have chained themselves to the door to get their voices heard. >> ♪ hold on. hold on. the chanting started about 7:00 a.m. and police blocked off traffic in front of downtown headquarters all morning long. >> na get away with murder literally and the only way to stop them is to show up. >> reporter: protesters chained themselves to the building putting it on lockdown.

they are speaking out on pg&e not reflecting the changing climate in california choosing to pay shareholders profits instead. many have mobility issues saying they were disproportionnally affected by the planned power blackouts in peak fire season. >> i just can't take a go bag and find a safe place to be. that is not that easy. >> the coalition demands that pg&e give back all shareholders profits and invest indies advantaged communities needs and the state turn pg&e over to the people. >> they billed it as an in con seenence and that is not okay. this is not an inconvenience where your health and life are at risk when the power goes off. >> reporter: pg&e sent out a statement in response to all of this saying that they are taking steps to reduce the

disruption here to their workers and to insure people's safety. also saying we understand and recognize the serious concerns raised by customers and wildfire victims and we acknowledge we have more work to do. they are saying they are open to a wide range of solutions. anne makovec, kpix 5. meanwhile kaiser workers hit the picket lines with a statewide five day strike. they are see blanding more money and health. their mental health clinics are understaffs and some workers have to stay after hours to serve their patients according to the union. hospitals and medical centers will remain open during the strike but the strike can shut down mental health services at more than 100 clinics across california. >> we're very disappointed they have decided to call yet another. we don't know why they continue to strike because we have a fair proposal that we have put

forward on the table that increases wages and that really addresses the needs they brought forward. >> officials say they are urging members of the nuhw to end the strike and review this proposal they have created. this is the sixth strike the union called in just 12 months' time. >> in washington, d.c. we're two days away from an expected vote in the house in which democrats are likely to impeach president donald trump. skyler henry on a new report describing the case against him and what else is leading up to the vote and probable trial in the u.s. senate. >> reporter: with impeachment in the house of representatives all but a certainty, republicans are locking ahead to a senate trial vowing to make it speedy. >> i'm ready to vote. i don't have to hear a lot of witness. but that is not what democrats want. he sent a letter proposing chief justice john roberts who

vote for impeachment in the house, but jeff van drew is depicting and expected to switch parties after the vote. at least five of van drew's staffers resigned saying it no longer a lines with hear values for him to switch parties. >> election poll numbers have been released. what to expect for super tuesday. joe biden is at the top for first choice at 28% favorability followed by elizabeth warren at 25% and then bernie sanders at 20%. way talked to election and survey unit director. he explains what is inside these new poll numbers and just what democratic voters want. >> you have to clear the top tier. you have all of them and our model to get delegates if they got the same percentages on

election day but democrats prize this idea of electability somebody that can go out and beat president donald trump. >> the next debate is thursday at the university. new at noon, visa just issued a security alert saying hackers have stolen personal data through purchases at the gas pump. the company said a cyber crime group called fin 8 used spam like e-mails to get into gas station payment systems. that is where they installed scraping software to steal a person's data off their credit cards. the attacks involve those with the magnetic stripe readers, not the pin and chip systems. visa did not say how mean accounts may be affected. apple and google, child labor law violations. they are named as defendants in a case accusing them of aiding and abetting mining companies that profited from forced child labor.

after public backlash, the hall mark channel is reversing its decision to pull ads featuring a lesbian couple kissing at the alter. hallmark's ceo is apologizing and saying the company is committed to diversity and inclusion. >> i taylor will pick zola to have and host our website. >> meant to show a celebration of love. >> we do. >> i do. >> became the center of controversy after hallmark blocked it from airing on its channel and removed four ads

from welding planning website zola that featured lesbian brides after the group had them removed. >> two ads featuring only heterosexual couples were allowed to air. lgbtq figures weighed in immediately. ellen wrote isn't it almost 2020? what are you thinking? democratic presidential candidate pete buttigieg tweeted being family friendly means honoring love, not sensorring difference. since its season launch on october 25 in the network said it reached 50 million total viewers. hallmark channel in the past had not done that before. they had been diverse. sarah kate ellis, ceo of the advocates sy group glad said they vowed to the pressure of one million moms before researching on the group.
