the police have recovered several stolen boxes of power tools after a chase ended in oakland. one suspect fought with staff before trying to escape and four suspects are now in custody. the drivers vehicle went off the road down the hill into

the creek this morning, the fire department tweeted out these photos at 4:30 am. they shut down clinton road for several hours to recover the driver and vehicle. the driver was taken to the hospital but expected to be okay. redwood city fire responded to an oak tree crashing into home today at san mateo county. the homeowner said they just had the practice trimmed and stormy weather made the ground to wet to support the weight but no injuries were reported. the wildfire is getting the attention of national lawmakers. u.s. senators held a hearing on keeping the power running despite the growing fire danger. >> one would expect to see these conditions in a developing country and not in the most populated and prospers places in the united states, and certainly not in the state with some of the highest electricity prices in the nation. >> pg&e bill johnson attended the hearing and the company

it is a not so smooth arrival at a florida airport. the police were trying to pull over this pickup truck and it sped away running into the chain-link fence, slamming into the car rental counter. you can see the employees ducking for cover. luckily it was in the middle of the night in the baggage claim area was empty and the driver will face charges after he is out of the hospital. some puppies purchased at pet stores could be linked to an outbreak of infections in humans with 30 infections reported across 13 states from early january through november 10. that does not include california. at least four people have been hospitalized but nobody is died. they are taking steps to prevent human and puppy illnesses. set for the approval both

like heading toward orinda and we have the forecast. >> we did have fog around this morning with overcast skies near the shoreline and parts north of santa clara county. we have a few sprinkles in the north bay too. we have increasing sunshine heading to the south bay but not so much to the north. cloudy and cool for part of the bay area and other parts don't look too bad. here is the look over san jose with blue skies in the silicon valley. it does not look bad over san francisco either, overcast with temperatures mostly in the 50s. san jose has skyrocketed to 60 degrees. this afternoon we look for mix of sun and clouds north of the golden gate, mostly cloudy skies. temperatures topping out with upper 50s to low 60s. you can see the clouds lifting to the north which leaves us with clear skies tonight.

fog forming overnight and double in the morning. the future cast shows what's on the way saturday night. friday looks okay, but saturday night we have a pretty good cold front moving in. it will be wet and moving through quickly mostly leaving us drive by sunday afternoon. christmas looks wet on christmas day and the odds are we will get showers with temperatures only in the low 50s. to sum it up, the sun emerging in the south and partly cloudy. clearing tonight with bob developing, and rain returning late saturday into early sunday. it will get wet this weekend and rain developing for the 49ers taking on the rams, and the game starts at 5:15 pm. tomorrow does not look bad with an increasing chance of showers into the they area. next week looks unsettled. expect things to get a little bit wet as we head into the end of the weekend. tomorrow would get a break with son coming out. >> we will take a break.
