now at noon, and streaming on cbsn bay area, a christmas tragedy in alameda county. three teens killed. two others seriously hurt in a violent crash. good afternoon. i'm anne makovec. michelle has the day off. >> and i'm kenny choi. the question right now, what happened? the five teenagers were driving just outside of pleasanton around 10:00 last night. jackie ward has more from scene. >> the main thing is how tragic this is. three people lost on christmas night. very, very sad. >> just before 10:00 last night, chp says that a single car traveling southbound on food hill swerved on to the northbound side, hitting a tree and taking out a power pole.

when help arrived, they found three ceased teenagers in the car and three other teens ejected from the impact. they are alive and resupervise rating from serious injuries. debris were still scattered along the road. this is known as a dangerous intersection. >> shortly after we moved here, there were two kids that died down here by pleasanton ridge. and then several more have died up this day. so about a total of eight or nine people have died along this road. >> right now, chp is trying to determine if speed was factor. >> that car has some type of a black blocks that we can download to get more vehicle information. >> we have a lot of people that speed through here, drag race. especially on the weekends because they know that, probably, they can get away with it. >> the involvement of drugs and

alcohol also not ruled out. >> pg&e o on replacing the power pole that was taken out. and the victims have not yet been identified. new video this noon of a robbery a bakery in san jose. the owner says that they were alerted by their security monitoring company. they are asking the thieves why they would target such a small local business. police are still looking for the gunman who opened fire during a christmas party in east oakland. it happened just after 6:00 last night at a home on 34th avenue near foothill boulevard. three males and a female were hurt. at least one of them in serious condition. they are ranging in age from 15 to 29. no word on a motive nor a description of the shooter. >> in vallejo, a six-year-old is expected to recove after he was shot on christmas eve.

about 20 people include the boy on his mother gathered on the sidewalk when someone started shooting hitting the boy in the stomach. no arrest. it's unclear who was the intended target. the man accused of killing the brother of 49ers quarterback is in jail. he stabbed three men outside of a nashville bar on saturday morning. two of them were killed. clayton bethard, the brother of c.j. and his friend. police say that mosey attacked the men when he made unwanted advances to a woman who was with them. the moms for housing had been living in a home on magnolia street since they illegally entered it on november 18th. they are now demanding that wedgewood, the real estate firm that owns the house, negotiate

the sale of the property through the community oak land land trust. a judge tentatively ruled in favor of eviction but delayed and final eviction this morning. outside of the court house, both sides dug in. >> the responsibility of wedgewood is to negotiate with these moms. they have offered to buy this home. >> there is no right way to do a wrong thing, what these people are doing is the wrong thing. they are bullies and they are thieves. >> the case now goes back to its original hearing date of december 30th. residents of an oakland homeless en campment also are facing eviction this noon. the city ordered about 50 people living at the wood street site to leave in november but some mappinged to stay saying that they have nowhere else to go. the city wants to convert the

site to a rv side. >> reporter: president trump started the day with a series of tweets aimed at house speaker nancy pelosi and her fellow democrats. he slammed them for sending the articles of impeachment straight to the senate and called them liars. a trial in the republican- controlled senate promises to be friendlier territory for the president. >> everything i do during this, i'm coordinating with the white house counsel. there is no difference between the president's position and our position. >> but that statement could cause senate majority leader mitch mcconnell some problem with moderate republican senators. >> when i heard that, is disturbed. >> reporter: alaska republican lisa murkowski says that she believes that senators should be impartial. >> it means ma we should take a step back from being hand in glove with the defense. >> the white house blocked turned and past administration

today marks the official start of kwaanza. it is a seven-day celebration of family, community and culture for millions of people of african descent. in san francisco, a full day of events is planned starting just a short time ago at city hall.
