stadium. the 49ers will square off against the green bay packers. a trip to the super bowl is at ake. the packersard afternoon at the park hotel. they got there by bus from the airport in san jose. no fans were on hand to greet them. but we found plenty of packer fans at pep rally last night. >> it is a sea of green here inside the patio in palo alto. they are ready for tomorrow's big game. and tonight they got a big burst from the team. it is the night before the big game. with a trip to the super bowl on the line. >> we are going to win for sure. >> the 49ers have home-field advantage as well. >> that doesn't mean anything. we've been in the playoffs so many times we are use to it. their team has been there plenty of times too but it's been a while. >> james lofton, jordy nelson and lynn dickey met with fans

by the time we get to about 40 5:00 in the afternoon we will have seen some of the better organized rain making it to the south bay. we pick up anywhere from attentive and it's too for half- inch of rain. sunday your temperatures will be right in the upper 50s to low 60s. the only other headline is that it will be cloudy. is not cloudy out there now but the clouds will arrive by the time we get to noon today and they're going to thicken up for much of the rest of the day. we pointed that out when we are talking about the forecast for the 49ers game it would just be cloudy wherever you are going to be in the bay area today. here's your next chance of rain. right there. watch that, that develops out there. let's put that forward here. that is the leading edge that shows up by the time we get past midnight on tuesday. let's bring it in closer plate forward. here is that it is going to be a morning commute issue in the north bay. that is 7:30 am. and that is where we are seeing the widespread rain. focusing on sonoma county and marin county toward napa.

when we talk about noon that organize line of rain has now moved down to the golden gate bridge and the i-80 corridor. of course it's not as impressive as it was earlier in the morning when i was over the north bay. so these are the light showers for the second half the day. by the time we get to the early evening it is done and if we put those rainfall totals on this perhaps as much is half an inch for santa rosa and less than a 10th of an inch for san jose. it's interesting how that one works out. it's fairly common. that's the way that this one is going to go on tuesday. here's your seven-day forecast. is a chance of rain on tuesday. clouds from now until then and less clouds after the daytime highs coming in to the low 60s on the inland side. for much of the second after this coming weekend near 60 for the bay. back over to you. still to come the system for recovering cans. what state lawmakers plan to do

recycling centers in california have been going out of business at an alarming rate. the new bill in sacramento would revamp the system for recycling cans and bottles. john ramose explains how it would all work. >> everyday people line up at the concord recycling center to turn in their bottles and cans. but everyone here seems to agree the california system could use more commonsense. the five cent california redemption value feet was created to get people to return bottles and cans for cycling. concord recycling collects about 100,000 pounds of bottles and cans each week. general manager macy one says the business model is not working anymore. driving half of the states redemption centers out of business. >> the system has not been changed for the past 20 or 30

some odd years since it has been in place. it is due for change. >> change may be coming. a bill introduced the legislature would require manufacturers to create and pay for crv redemption sent system convenient enough to bring the recycling rate up to 90%. >> this will definitely be something that consumers will appreciate if the manufacturers as well as a grocery stores are back in and persuading. >> stores are required to redeem crv containers with the system can be so burdensome that many stores opt to pay the $100 day fine rather than do that. another problem is that soda and beer qualify but wine and liquor bottles do not. the proposal would include those containers in the crv fee as well. today the review six months of bottles and cans walking away with almost $180. but the milk bottles were rejected. which doesn't make a lot of sense to them.

>> if you're doing a better do it all not just halfway. don't recycle some stuff and reject others. it will be a lot more simple if it was altogether in one. >> simple is the goal. there are some out here and they really need help it's a dire situation. >> the general manager says what would help the industry is if they were raising the price from $.05-$.10 like they are an organ. kpix five. the bill would require manufacturers to have a new system up and running by 2024. is designed to encourage tech companies and startups to create and test new technologies. they hope the move will eventually encourage companies to house their new headquarters or major operations.
