minutes, back over to you. police are investigating a shooting that sparked panic at a high school basketball game, happened at deer valley high school. police found a six 18-year-old suffering from three gunshots wounds in the parking lot, he was taken to the hospital in critical condition, was not clear where the shooting happened but there were evidence markers outside the building and police were seen talking to people leaving the parking lot. strachan union city, police fired at a pair of suspects during a high-speed trade chase last night. all of it began when a fremont police officer started chasing a vehicle, believed to be involved in a theft at a sophora store. the chase continued off the highway into union city and then ended. >> the officers try to pull them over, led through fremont and into union city and it ended in the cul-de-sac. >> the officer fired up the suspects, injuring two, while a

walking his daughter's dog down the street, he noticed the two pit bulls in the white suv, so he crossed the road, but it was too late. isaias garcia frequently walks with leo in this novato neighborhood, he was right at the intersection of chase and plum street when he says two pit bulls jumped out of an open window of a white suv. garcia desperately tried to kick the dogs off of leo but didn't have any success, and tell her neighbor came to his aid. >> even me, i could not defend him, you know, was hopeless. >> reporter: garcia rushed leo to an emergency room, that is when gabby garcia first saw what happened to her dog. >> it almost seemed like he had a gunshot wound, like it was, the bite was so profound. >> reporter: leo was bent in the neck and chest and required surgery, isaias garcia had

scratches and bruises from the fall, garcia family is thankful nobody else was hurt. >> we have children living here and if it was a child walking the dog and the same thing happened, the child would've been dead. >> reporter: the garcia's want to make sure this does not happen to anyone else, they have the surveillance footage of the white suv leaving the scene and hopes the community will come forward with information on the dogs owner. >> i am not against the breed, but i am against the people who own the dog and don't train them properly. >> reporter: luckily, leo is expected to make a full recovery, if you have any information, contact the humane society. kpix 5. the first coronavirus case is now confirmed in the bay area , a man is in isolation after he tested positive, he is the seven case nationwide. health officials that he visited both wuhan and shanghai in china, but they did not provide any other information about his trials travels. >> re

cdc notified us that a resident of our county is confirmed to have the coronavirus. >> reporter: here is what we know about the patient, he is an adult male, the patient landed at sjc on january 24th, he went directly home and has been health self isolating at home ever since, he has left home only twice, both times to receive medical care, the name of the facility he visited is not being released. >> since we are a large county and many of our residents travel frequently, we are not surprised to be announcing the first case in the bay area and in northern california. >> reporter: the public health department says all information about specific airlines, other involved airports and possible travel companions will be investigated at the federal level by the cdc and while there are no specific health advisories at sjc, travelers

sunnyvale, still looking at 67 for san ramon, 65 in walnut creek, numbers for the north bay come into the mid-60s, sausalito at 61, san francisco at 61, oakland will hit 64 today, in the north bay, santa rosa, your number will also be in the mid-60s, we will see temperatures in the mid-60s across much of sonoma county. look look at the change coming our way, the first time talking about is how we are going to just miss out on the rain, that was sunday, the showers pretty much stayed right off the coast, we are not going to get rain out of the system, you can see where the rain actually falls where you can measure it, you have to get up into the north bay for that, it is the wind that becomes the issue

here. by 11:00 tonight, we have noticed the wind off the coast pickup, once we get into sunday morning, now it is windy across the entire bay area, sunday at 9:00 a.m., those are winds gusting to the mid-20 range, we've got 15 down on the south bay, for sustained winds that will guest a little higher at times, the wind will stay up until we get through sunday night and then, will begin to calm down, once we get into monday, it's not so much a wind story anymore, by that point, it's going to be a temperature story, daytime highs only going into the mid-50s for sunday and monday, we will be near 70 today, mid-50s for sunday and monday, you can see that holds for the first part of next week, then we will start to warm up by the second half of next week, into the upper 60s again, no rain in the next seven days.

is the view from downtown san jose looking towards the east bay, you can see it's a clear morning, we are relatively warm, i only have one temperature on here that is dip into the upper 30s, lavender, that is you at 39, everyone else is 40s or low 50s. makes sense the temperatures would be relatively warm in the morning, we have been staying relatively warm in the afternoons as well and we will do that for one more day today. first, let's talk about the fog. the visibility is doing just fine in the south bay, once you get into the north bay, here's the issue, santa rosa, napa and fairfield, the .3 on there, you can only see 3/10 of a mile down the road way, if you are about to head out on the road in europe and the north bay, whether it's sonoma or napa county, give yourself extra time, it's going to be foggy for the next few hours or so.
