and now you can spot it. the bands of yellow and orange on here show you where some of the better organized rain is in the north bay. it's been since late january that we've gotten measurable rain. today, we're going to ballistic that streak. even though it's not going to be a lot. we're probably only going to get .10" of rain out of this. petaluma you're getting the best rain of anybody and it's coming right into downtown. you can see mcdowel boulevard going through the center of the screen. santa rosa you've noticed a few showers as well. not as impressive as petaluma at this point. and if we come out for the wietder view, you can see there's a lot more of this off the coast. what we do now is we switch from hi-def doppler.
6:47 am
this will pretty much be morning long bay area wide. it's going to be morning rain pretty much for all of us. .10" is not much of a downpour. plan on slick roadways. look at the time stamp here. that says 2:00 in the afternoon. by the time we've gotten to 2:00 in the afternoon, things have started to quiet down. there could still be a few scattered showers going into the afternoon. but, really, 90% of the rain we're going to see today is going to fall between right now and about noon and then things will start to fall apart and clear out. might even get some breaks of blue skies in the afternoon. and, by the way, there's an important element of that. if the skies or i should say when the skies clear out tonight, that's when we're going to feel the cold air from this system. we're sitting in the upper 40s right now. low 50s for many places. we're going to dip down into the 40an30s for

6:49 am
another chance of rain on monday. that one looks far less impressive than today even. if you look at the rainfall totals focused mainly on the first half of monday. it's really going to be to our south. san jose gets a quarter of an inch. but you're going to see that in the 7-day forecast when we get there. today's rain's obvious. sunday we get a break. monday there are a few light showers on there. we can't rule it out entirely for the rest of the bay area but it will be light on monday and look how fast we turn around from there. daytime highs are going to skyrocket again. sunny and warm to take us through much of the middle of the week. kind of a backf evha there's more coming by next week. >> and, for the overall water picture that snow's even more

significant than the rain we're going to get. >> we're going to start replenishing the reservoirs which are doing okay right now. it's mainly the dry landscapes down here we're worried about in the drought. but, yes, we need more rain. this doesn't make a dent for 40% of snow packers this time of year. an eagle on a golf course is pretty cool but not totally uncommon. but yesterday, a al life eagle stole the show. cameras captured the wild animal swooping into the lagoon and finding a big catch just in time for dinner. the eagle did a lap around the course before flying off with its meal.
