>> and, it is 12 minutes into this. and, that's a it's going to be windy again today. that's going to be the top concern. and, in addition to this, let me tell you what you should be ready for in terms of the way it's going to feel. yesterday's wind, it's not that bad but it will still be breezy for most of us. this is over on the golden gate bridge. and, we are all sitting in the middle 50s with the exception of the north bay. everybody else is in the middle 50s. it is going to be wendy at the coast. we are going to hit 40 mile-per- hour wind gusts at the beaches along the northern coast. then, the third headline, when we get to this weekend of cool and breezy, lower to middle 90s coming back for the middle part of this week.

>> a vigil will be held this afternoon just before 2:30 pm in front of the sheriff's office. the sheriff's office has asked the community to remain vigilant as investigate whether others are involved. stomach a fast-moving fire is threatening about hundred structures. it's forcing people out of their homes. it's called the quail fire and it sparked yesterday afternoon outside of quail canyon road and pleasant valley road. it grew to 1200 acres last night and was just 5% contained as of about 11 pm. evacuation orders are in onan pleasant valley road. they said at least 600 firefighters on the scene. and here's a look at the firefight. air tankers roaring overhead dumping buckets of water from the sky while crews on the ground had to stop the flames from crossing the roadway. the cause is still under

investigation. evacuation center has been set up. and while the fire continues to rage, fire crews have managed to contain another wind whipped fire which was parked near the old concord weapon stationary for. air tankers attacked that 136 acre fire as it burned dangerously close to residential neighborhoods. it left behind a large burn scar. and plumes of thick white smoke. they managed to stop all forward progress and that fire is fully contained. you can see just how close those claims got homes. that burn area just feet away. no reports of any injuries but the fire did spread to at least one structure. and in sonoma county. firefighters have gained the upper hand on a fire that broke out just south of petaluma. that grew to 140 acres just before 4 pm. no reports of any damage to

structures there. we saw large protests in berkeley on saturday against racism and the death of george flight. thousands marched down martin luther king jr. way and demonstrators gathered outside a berkeley high. can you join was there. it is quiet here and just hours ago, students, families, and activists came here to bury racism as well as a celebration. >> marching in solidarity makin >> fight with wisdom. >> they carried a coffin as part of a funeral procession >> our goal was to get racial terror off of our backs name it and bury it. >> thousands including a colin kaepernick support is demanding change. >> if we would've spoke to him then, we wouldn't be a nation on fire as it is right now.

reopened since those protesters dispersed. there was the view. and, from chapter 5 as a peaceful demonstration wound its way across the span and back. and here's what it looked like. protesters forming a massive line to get on the bridge. and while the protest remained peaceful. the return trip wasn't a smooth one as demonstrators fanned out in the traffic lanes. protesters on the opposite side ran across jumped over the barrier to join them. traffic all ready had no choice but to sit and wait as the chp tried to divert cars as best they could. union organizers and activists also flocked to the former site of candlestick park. as you may remember, the protest became a national symbol. yesterday everybody joined together taking a knee standing in solidarity with athletes who have sometimes faced backlash.

a lot of attention not only for those protest. and, also, newly developed >> ithard to describe. we can be the new soundtrack for the world's most famous bridge. when the winds were especially powerful. they could hear them home for miles away. where did it come from? they say that the sound stems from a recent handrail retrofit project designed to make it more aerodynamic gusty days. >> this is something that we anticipated. and it's an interesting new element to an 83-year-old bridge. it's not every day that you can introduce something new to the structur d. sumac that is true. the rail replacement is about 75% complete. so the noise could even get a little bit louder under the right conditions.

>> interesting that right wind conditions because pathos questions on that. how strong does the wind have to be? that sounds really loud on friday. and then, it was kind of loud on saturday. friday we had 45 mile per hour gusts over the bridge. it doesn't happen all the time. it's not like the sound is going to be a constant thing. speaking of which, we show you what it looks like out here. and taking a close-up look right at the flag above the civic center. that has been the theme of the last two days and we still have one more day where the wind is going to be the headline in the forecast but i'm happy to say today's wins will be lighter than yesterday. and yesterday's wins will be a little bit lighter than friday. we are bringing these down. showing you the temperatures at the top of the new cast. current numbers are really manageable. that flag looked good over the civic center. we are only talking about a 15 mile-per-hour breeze. and we are not recording any

significant wind gust yet. but, by now we know the drill on this. the wind picks up in the afternoon. that is when the strongest of the wind start to be ced and going to put futurecast into the afternoon. the deeper the shade of purple getting into red. the stronger the wind. and this gets us ahead. this is when we start to get back to peak and once again, we are going to see gus into the middle 30s for many locations. it's going to be another windy day. better than yesterday. and it was a highlight where the real trouble spots are. if i take out the areas outside of this red shading. you can see the strongest winds coming in from the golden gate into the delta and really out on the coast. bodega bay hitting a 41 mile- per-hour wind gust. in fact, if you're curious to hear that sound of the bridge, this may be one of your last opportunities for a while because, the wind well it will not be as strong as it was friday it will still be strong

enough today probably creating some of that residence. so, as far as the rest of the story. high definition doppler. there's not a lot to this. and, once to bring some of the stray showers. it's not like they were going to get any. and look what happens. a few showers skirting along the coast range. but, at least a small opportunity on there. let's get your daytime highs here. and, this is identical to saturday. and, this comes in a little bit warmer than that. 75 for concord. and, this is topping out at 70. this is 64 in sausalito. and, the number the mendocino county coming into the 60s. and it is forecast, here's the warm-up. back up into the lower and middle 90s. it's not as bad as the two little heat waves that we've had so far this season.

and of thousands of people have rallied across the globe to order and honor george floyd. demonstrators in protestant cities like london, paris, berlin, and brisbane australia. london cost thousands. and, the turnout has been significant despite the governor urging them not to rally over fears of spreading s. overnight britain's most senior police chief said 14 officers were hurt in clashes with protesters near the prime minister's offices after a largely peaceful demonstration.

paris protesters carried signs outside of the embassy to rally for george floyd. that 7000 also gathered in front of the eiffel tower. they had banned the rallies to prevent the spread of the virus. and as you can see, they gathered anyway. >> protesters also gathered. the capital of germany to protest police brutality. thousands of those gathered holding signs that said black lives matter in germany isn't innocent. many demonstrators were wearing black as an expression of solidarity. they estimate there around 15,000 people at that demonstration. crowds also gathered on the other side of the globe and brisbane australia. they say about 30,000 people gathered in the queensland state capital to honor the memory of floyd. demonstrators also protested the death of indigenous australians in custody. the rally remained orderly as police handed out masks and hand sanitizer's. the large crowd later marched to a local police precinct shouting no justice no peace.

also in brisbane, and indigenous group performed a ceremony during the black lives matter rally. members danced along with protesters to show their support for the global movement and for humanity in general. stomach coming up, the latest on saturday's deadly ambush against sheriff's deputies in the santa cruz mountains. and, we are keeping an eye on that fire still burning out of control forcing people out of their homes near vacaville.

at. you can see davies hall behind it. so we are looking over the civic center. but, the point is, that flag is high enough that is almost always going to have some kind of a pretty breeze making it flap like that. the wind has really picked up yet for what it will this afternoon. we are going to follow the same pattern that we had for the last two days. and, that is the wind gets a lot stronger in the middle of the day and going into the late afternoon. middle 50s out there right now. concord is at 55. it's 56 in oakland and 47 in santa rosa. so, that's doing what they do best. which is cool down more than anybody else. let's watch the wind. we will play this forward. watch the color spike right there. so the more you get into that, and you could even see the pattern how that crept on the shoreline like that. it does into the early evening peers let's look at these numbers here. going to clear the map except for those that are in the funnel.

several streets are blocked off due to those roads reopened. and, thousands marched across the golden gate bridge. that wound its way north across the span and back again. doing the return trip they fanned out coming from her and had nothing to do but sit and wait. and, as many as 300,000 people filled the streets of washington dc. the national monument they say that they will not rest until they see reforms to combat police brutality. is going to be windy again today. we take a look at the futurecast, it will be strongest on the coast. but inland, dusts are still getting up to 30. and, still strong at that yet to consider this as well. and, we are getting a warm-up coming our way. thank you for joining us.
