let's get started with a check of our weather with darren. >> it is windy out there and it is cold out there. is more of a fall like weather pattern for the rest of today than you would expect for late june with july right around the corner. >> i noticed the wind driving up. >> there is going to be a windchill fact into it. first of all for the first time in a while we can actually see from our cameras on top of the salesforce tower. that is a sign we are beginning to clear out a lot of the marine layer that is been hanging around. the temperatures do not tell the whole story even though the 48 in santa rosa is a bit chilly. the real headline is the fact that we are going to see gusty winds particularly through the afternoon. i will show you how those pickup coming up in your complete forecast. there is your headline. by the afternoon it gets windier.

for much of the rest of next week things will quiet down. current wins in the 20s but they are gusting in places. there are your daytime highs are today. some of us will be 10b0 cooler today than yesterday particularly if you're in the livermore san jose. you guys will feel this the most. i want to go over all of this and a lot more detail. >> prison officials in san quentin are grappling with a massive coronavirus outbreak. they have not been able to bring it under control. they consider transferring dozens of inmates but were forced to abandon that plan. >> state prison officials said

they stopped the transfer after discovering tumor positive cases which brings the total to 572 in the last 14 days. we have learned several additional hospitals are taking in some inmates in need of medical care. >> the san quentin numbers are staggering pick as of tonight 614 confirmed cases among the 3700 incarcerated. community members listed a virtual town hall to address concerns including a current inmate. >> i understand the longer the pandemic exists anywhere the longer and farther we are from getting back to work school and any sense of normalcy in our life pick >> tonight we confirmed seton medical center in daly city is taking in second inmates. so far at least 25 are being treated under heavy security including marin gen. and st. francis hospital in san francisco. prison advocates are demanding the governor and the california department of corrections and rehabilitation grants more releases amid the outbreak. >> we should only release or reduce the population by a low about violent drug offender. it is a very harmful as far as

semi automatic weapon. one victim was hit by the car is so. hospital officials say the four injured patients are in fear condition about 200 workers were at that facility. many locked themselves into a room. >> i helped a lady that was trapped in the beginning. hit the alarm and called 911. >> officials in the city of red bluff said the suspect is injured but in custody. the suspects identity has not been released pick >> developing this morning one person is dead and another.

>> officers are now on the as they investigate a series of facebook posts. community activists say the posts are signs of systemic racism. stalin spoke with groups and the mayor in san jose about how to move forward. >> he wants the officers fired. >> this is despicable. and has no place in our city. >>

>> the coronavirus is changing how automakers unveil new cars. on saturday they got a look at teslas take on the pickup truck. people lined the automotive museum. got a first look at the cyber truck. the museum was booked at half capacity to ensure safe social distancing. on the visitors holding advanced tickets could get in. it all added up to a new way to unveil what is being touted as a revolutionary design. >> this is definitely a different way to get this out when they can see it in a safe way.

the colors light up. look at the time. that says 3:45 in the afternoon. in other words the wind is going to get stronger as we get into the afternoon today. we could see gusts 50 at the coast. that is worse for the afternoon. san jose italy be breezy but it should be as bad as other this is the first phase of today's winds. it picks up into the afternoon and it is another one of these cold onshore winds. and i like yesterday was. now watch what happens as we go into the evening. i was zooming on the north bay. two things happened by the time you get into this evening and very early tomorrow morning. the winds pick up in the mountains and they die down at the lower elevation. the strongest of the winds where we all live it happens this afternoon. tonight into tomorrow the direction of the wind will

switch instead of being onshore it is going to go offshore. these are now north winds. to come out of the northeast they really start speeding up over these northwest oriented mountain ranges. now this gets us into a very different scenario. this is where the fire weather concerns comes in. this is new. this red flag warning was issued overnight. this was not an item. this is not an item in yesterday's forecast. the times as they begin sunday night and goes through monday nine. it is the areas in red on here specifically the mountains separating napa and sonoma county. that will be the area of concern with this. we also have some issues down here for the mountains of marin although the bigger concern on the mountains in napa. as far as daytime highs very much like yesterday in the south bay. if you are inland you will be

indigenous areas have been the hardest hit by the coronavirus. one village is receiving treatment from just three nurses. nearly 80% has been diagnosed with the virus. this left three nurses to care for all 750 people in the village. one nurse says that town is so remote it doesn't know if or when they will get additional supplies. they say their job is getting harder every day but they are the only healthcare workers the village has pick >> meantime in honduras the nation's president tweeted footage of him in the hospital announcing he has tested positive for coronavirus. along with the photo he wrote a message saying that he is still in the hospital but also always working to serve his people. he signed several decrees to assist the production sector in small businesses. a government spokesperson said the president is in stable

condition and his condition is improving. he is being treated at a military hospital. his wife and two aides also tested positive for the virus. >> brazil's death toll from covid-19 oases 57,000. yesterday the country reported at least 1000 [ buzzer sounding ] 1100 deaths. more than 38,000 new cases have been reported in 24 hours. >> brazil has a population of 200 million which is less than two thirds of the u.s. zila seeing more than twice as many new confirmed cases per million a day than the u.s. hotels in britain have opened their doors to the home this during the lockdown took as many as 15,000 people were temporarily house across the country. now with hotels preparing to reopen the government has said none of the homeless who were house will be forced back out onto the street.

colder. first off you can already tell the weather has changed because we are starting off the weather this morning. we have had several days in a row. of course down in san jose nothing new here. it is a beautiful start to the day with clear skies. sunshine down here. 50 in santa rosa right now. 59 in oakland. that is our spread. it is not that big. here are the headlines. gusty winds particularly in the afternoon especially at the coast. >> we would turn the winds around tonight. they will become offshore winds and it is going to get gusty in the mountains of the north bay. we need to talk about a red flag warning. more on that in the complete forecast. quiet weather for the rest of the week. and there are your winds now. 23 mile an hour sustained winds. concorde you are waking up to a windy morning. much more so than the rest of the bay area. there are the daytime highs for today. some of the locations will be

the directions will change and we will see the focus shift completely. the get the purple streak going across the mountains of the north bay. that looks like a fall situation where the strong offshore winds go in the opposite direction. they will be going this afternoon. instead of going offshore that will come on shore. when that happens they really start racing over the peaks and drying out. there is a red flag warning in place for the mountains of the north bay. this is really going to be focused on the mountains that separates sonoma and napa county. very similar to what we had happened in the fall. the situation does not look as concerning as it does for the mountains up in wine country.

daytime highs today mid-70s. will see numbers get into the low 80s inland. some of these numbers are about 10b0 cooler than yesterday. if you are in the immediate baig you don't notice a big drop from yesterday to today. it will fill blustering and coal. these winds are different than what we have been experiencing over the last few days. this is not like the typical onshore breeze pygmies are ones being driven in by a weak storm. look at what is going on. this is a weak area of low pressure almost like what it would be in an early fall situation or late spring situation. as it does that it pulls the wind on shore down here. that is why we are going through this. we just have one day like this to get through it. this shouldn't happen too often for us this time of the year but today and tonight we have got it. by early next week the winds relax. we go to a sea breeze situation in the daytime highs get back to average. devon, back to pick >> at this time last year san
