welcome back. we are giving you an update on what we are seeing this morning. we have seeing multiple fires popping up. this one off of f is working to get that under control. this is a 2 alarm fire and cal fire said because of the conditions and you can see how big it is there already it has to potential to get to 100 acres. there is another fire in the santa cruz mountains. they are calling for air craft but have to wait until the sun comes up. they are calling that one the warnell fire, and we will bring you the latest as we get it here. from that let's transition

to the doppler. take a look at the lightning strikes, and you will see what you your own window. let's get an over view of where you are seeing the flashes in the sky. they are happening over the bay area and now i focussed on the drive. if yere going up 101 or 280 and see a new cell developing over the heart of downtown san jose. this is fairly localized. but if you near 880, right where these converge. we have a really good cell showing up over the heart of downtown. we can and work 880, a lot of this is heavy rain falling, just to the east.

but the lightning is wide spread and that is the number one impact of this. the startling nature of the sounds that no doubt woke you up and the light show giving you entertainment and maybe pause for concern because it is not something we typically see this a time of the year. we work up north from here, right where 680 turns up to the hills, you can see a good heavyt extends up into the valley. this is a very organized line of rain. and the 680 corridor lit up with lightning and downpours, this is the kind of stuff that could provide small hail with it. all of the things that go along got forhe entire bay area, staying in effect until 6:45.

let's go to the bay proper. that are fornd working up to the valley from there. concord, you have your show and it is showing up. this covers this one band of rain for the south and the east bay. that is the most impressive at this point. in the north bay, you not left out of this and the corridor through 101. and working up into lake county, clear lake you also getting the show. this will go on for a while. if you look off of the coast there is a steady stream of more to go. that is all getting caught up in a flow that wants to bring the storms on shore in a direction like that. that is why the national weather service has us under a severe thunderstorm warning. things to kind mind with this besides the sound and show and fires. and we will have more on that coming

it is 6:30. let's jump into the breaking news. it has been a busy morning several fires burning throughout the bay area, and let's start with the skyline fire burning off of woodside you can see the pictures there. several people were taken to the hospital as a result of that. moving now to the aurora fire, this is in east bay near livermore, one structure is threatened. it is 28 acres and has the potential to get to 100 acres thanks to winds and slopes there. it is a 2 alarm fire and again, the aurora fire. another fire burning near bonny dune. they requested back up and additional resources including aircraft.

san jose, you had quite the show of thunderstorms that movedoff the north east between santa clara and up through alameda, and you can follow it up through 680, concord to pleasanton. you in the most impressive line of thunderstorms and a good band moving through the north bay as well. so if you put this together, still have a ways to go, the national weather service has the entire bay area under a severe thunderstorm warning and fits in line nightly nicely to whenthis qui things quiet down. it is taking futurecast some time. but i am going to play this forward into the late morning.

point and stopped forward progress. this moving on to the aurora fire, this is burning in alameda county, it is a 2 alarm fire, 20 acres and the potential to grow significantly to 100 acres. cal fire said one structure is threatened and multiple factors involved considering the fact there is a slope driven aspect here. also another fire burning in bonny dune. they are have called for aircraft. that is 10 acres, they are requesting additional resources, and the good news is the one at redwood estates, they have stopped forward progress, a lot of speculation about if that or others were started by the lightning strikes we have seen all over the bay arean point, we are under a
