6:17 am
fire season. if we get enough rain, it could potentially put an end to fire station season at the coast range and even the northern sierra. having said that, today is sunday and this does not get here until saturday . we should not be doing a forecast for specific rain amounts six days out. but, because this is an important factor in what we need more than anything, we will focus on this with detail. i hear your caveat, but this is how much i trust you. i take your forecast like promises but you said the r word and we will keep checking back with you. >> certainly. >> thank you. twin peaks auto care is at a busy corner at woodside avenue on land owned by the city. affordable housing advocates say that instead of filling up cars, the property could fill a

while. >> reporter: carla richards understands the importance of affordable housing and is a one point homeless. there have been many gas stations lost in the last two decades. >> there needs to be balance. there need to be places to fill our cars too. >> reporter: they want all gas stations to have stronger storage tanks by 2025 and that's why he is asking for the lease. >> it would take 20-30 years to secure a loan that was secured. >> reporter: opponents argue that if san francisco is serious about fighting climate change that the gas station should not be part of the future . >> it is a convenience for people who live here but there are other gas stations not too far away. >> reporter: if they don't like it, they can reject it or shorten the lease.
