to travel let's come back home it is cold and windy this morning. the view view from this top of the salesforce are you see the view to the east and the numbers do not tell you the complete story. you would think it was a mild morning every saw a screen full of low 50s but you have to factor in the wind and looking at current wind speeds, sustained numbers in the mid- 20s for much of the bay but it is gusting into the mid-30s, particularly for the east bay, the peninsula and contra costa county, 32 mph gusts in concord and 32 in san francisco and this is the way it will say the next three hours watch future costs. i'll play it forward and it is not until we get to about 1 pm today, right after that point the wind lets up a little bit, unless you're at the coast right along the immediate shoreline of the bay there will still be decent when and it will take us through much of

the afternoon today. and once we get overnight hours the direction of the wind will shift and will be more of an offshore wind. tomorrow morning or feel even colder than today as a result. there is a wind advisory which is with us through 4 pm. on top of all of that we have the possibility to see a few light showers graze the north bay and will watch future cast, starting out 6:15 and now look at the line of rain working its way down the coast. that will try to skirt just off the coastline of the bay area today and we will miss out on all the, we could get a straight shower but really this storm's focus is in the sierra which is a good thing. we start building snowpack in the mountain it would be nice to get bay area wide rain and this doesn't look like it will do it for us. these are daytime highs today. we are looking at a map shaded gray to blue we think that is morning lows and sure enough

spent we spoke to a few of the stars of the show.>> it is a big season for kenzie and dixon we seen them navigate everything over 11 years and what is fun about this season on top of chasing bad guys and explosions and all the things we know enough about ncis: los angeles, the characters are also trying to buy a house and get pregnant, but a lot of the stuff the audience really knows what those obstacles are like and trying to navigate them with characters we have fallen so deeply in love with, it is entertaining television. it is a fun season. it is a heartbreaking season but a fun went. >> and it is a testament to the creativity of the writers, after 12 years what stories are there left to tell? and they have kept them coming. pretty strong. it also allows us as actors to do this and we are never bored

greet the outside from your doorway, it will be a great day but it is windy, low 50s is nothing new but it is the gust of 35 mile-per-hour wind across much of the bay area this morning that is the factor. in the north bay it isn't all that windy at about 10 mile-per- hour but if you look at the central part of the bay and you put where the wind is gusting you see it. inland contra costa county, the east bay for sure, the peninsula and definitely along the coast where it is 35 mile- per-hour wind gusts. this is how it will say the next three hours. you can watch the colors like the screen up on future cast until we get into the late afternoon today when most of us will notice the wind relax unless you are at the coast and then it stays wendy. all the way into the evening hours. i wind advisory in effect until for this afternoon as a result. coming back out to the wide view to show you how the storm is behaving, we have talked about the snow falling in the

sierra, we will probably pick up another couple of inches from what we have gotten. it is enough the ski resorts are getting excited. it will put down the kind of base they all want and as the snow dwindles let's draw our attention back home because through the remainder of the day, it takes us all the way through sunday, there is a minor opportunity for rain from scattered showers will be confined mainly off the coast. i don't have an accumulated rainfall map to show you from this as it is doubtful we will get anything, although the reporting station in santa rosa was reporting light rain but it is nothing that you can read on the radar and it will not be anything you can measure really. that is how today will go. the temperatures will stay cool, and it is one thing to show you the daytime highs, which by the way, there what the morning lows were a few days ago, but it will get colder from here and i will use santa rosa's my example. the morning lows will bottom

out between now and tuesday and wednesday, it is 45 in santa rosa this morning which is average and tomorrow will be 30. while we will not all quite get this gold that is the extreme and if you look at the seven day forecast we see temperatures staying on the low side the next few days and morning lows for most locations bay area wide will get into the mid to upper 30s the most mornings. daytime highs will slowly rebound. by the time we get to thursday in the seven day forecast over my shoulder there is no chance of rain and that is where we turn our attention next. hopefully we get another opportunity to get water.>> i feel like in the earlier weather reports some shade was on on my snowboarding skills and i want to set the record straight that i am an accomplished novice/intermediate snowboarder>> you know you're getting on the mountain and getting down and not breaking anything.>> don't jinx me.
