host. in hollywood, cbs news. that's the overnight news for this monday. it's monday, november 9, 2020. this is cbs morning news. president-elect joe biden. the former vice president is laying out his top priorities after being projected the winner of the presidential race. the world reacts. the result isn't sitting well with everyone. some of america's rivals have portrait the elections. and operation warp speed. a top military leader talks his biggest fear once there is a vaccine. good morning. good to be with you. i'm anne-marie green. we are going to begin with president-elect joe biden's plans to transition to the white

house. on saturday, cbs news projected him the winner after a solid lead in pennsylvania giving him more than 270 electoral votes. hours later, he spoke in delaware with vice president-elect. president trump is not conceding. he continues to questioning the results based on unfounded claims of voter fraud. will president trump's legal challenges affect the decision. >> there are the legal challenges and then there are conceding. some say without the president conceding, they can't officially name joe biden and kamala harris the official candidates. without that, there could be a delay in that transition. >> without that, joe biden is wasting any time preparing for the white house.

but was unable to pass the 50% threshold. the other race between warnock and loeffler will be decided in a runoff. the coronavirus will be one of the biggest challenges for the new congress and president-elect joe biden. more than 105,000 cases were reported yesterday according to johns hopkins university. the fifth day in a row the number of daily cases has topped 100,000. the seven-day average for new cases is also going up in 47 states. all of this comes as the u.s. military works on plans to distribute vaccines to millions of americans. talking with 60 minutes about his biggest nightmare when it comes to giving out the vaccines. >> we give vaccines to the american people and they don't take them. shame on us. i was already sick, i don't need it.

the new york times says affordable care act will face another supreme court test. republican officials will argue that obama care should be struck down. that will threaten coverage more more than 23 million americans and eliminate protections for people with preexisting conditions. the first time the court will take up the obama care. since the confirmation of conservative judge amy coney barrett. three people were shot at circuit circuit casino at the las vegas strip. the shots can be heard on the video on saturday night. the shooting stemmed from a fight between two groups. three people were hospitalized. all in stable condition. a suspect was arrested. they think there was only one shooter.
