impeach president trump, a second time, there's a new security threat. the fbi is warning of armed protests at all 50 state capitols. some cities including sacramento have already put additional security measures in place. the law enforcement source tells cbs news that a group is calling for the storming of federal, state and local buildings if mr. trump is removed from office before january 20th. meantime, two capitol police officers have been suspended following last week's riot. that's according representative tim ryan. he said one officer took selfies with rioters while another put on a red make america great again hat. debra alfarone is in washington. debra, just how are democrats moving forward today in their efforts to remove mr. trump from office? >> reporter: anne-marie, the house will vote today. they're going to meet to vote to urge vice president mike pence to invoke the 25th amendment. now, if that doesn't work,

they say they're confident they have enough votes to impeach president trump for a second time. house democrats say they have the votes they need to impeach president trump a second time on wednesday. >> we have more than the majority. >> reporter: the impeachment resolution argues president trump gravely endangered the security of the united states, during last week's assault at the u.s. capitol. >> the best way to heal, to unify our nation is to hold accountable those who attacked our capitol and those who incited that attack. >> reporter: first they're urging vice president mike pence to activate the 25th amendment, though he's showing no signs of considering such action. >> to declare president donald j. trump incapable of executing the duties of his office. >> reporter: the fbi is warning of armed protests at all 50 state capitols leading up to inauguration day. officials here in d.c. say they want americans to stay home january 20th. >> our goals right now are to encourage americans to participate virtually.

>> reporter: president-elect joe biden received his second coronavirus vaccine yesterday. he plans to take the oath of office on the same steps the rioters overran. >> i'm not afraid to taking the oath outside. >> reporter: democrats are looking for ways to keep a senate impeachment trial from sidetracking the president's new agenda. >> half day with dealing with the impeachment. and half day getting my people nominated and confirmed in the senate. >> reporter: today, president trump travels to south texas to visit the border wall. it will be his first public appearance since the riots. and we were expecting to hear from the president yesterday. that's what his aides said. but today could be the first time we hear from him since the rally that preceded the violence here at the capitol. anne-marie. >> certainly want to hear what he has to say. debra alfarone in washington. debra, thank you. president trump declared a state of emergency in washington ahead of president-elect joe biden's inauguration.

that means security will be beefed up in d.c. for the next 12 days. at least 10,000 national guard troops will be in place by saturday. d.c.'s mayor muriel bowser said the threat of violence is real. >> are people still going to be inspired to violence and to try to overthrow institutions of our government. so, i think that -- that frame, for everybody has to -- has to reset. because it may not end on the 20th. >> authorities say that they have comprehensive plans in place to ensure safety and security. and the fbi has released new photos in the investigation into pipe bombs found in washington, d.c. last week. the agency tweeted more detailed photos of the backpack and sneakers of a possible suspect wearing a gray hooded jacket. the pipe bombs were found near the headquarters of both the republican and democratic

national committees. there is a $50,000 reward in the case. new jersey congresswoman bonnie watson coleman said she tested positive for covid-19. the democratic lawmaker says she may have been exposed while sheltering at the u.s. capitol during last week's riot. she was among dozens of lawmakers taken to a secure location when rioters broke in. in a statement, she said a number of members within the space ignored instructions to wear masks. coleman is experiencncing mild cold-like symptoms. president-elect joe biden received his second covid-19 vaccine shot. he received it at a hospital in delaware yesterday. mr. biden said he's confident about reaching his goal of vaccinating 100 million americans in his first 100 days in office. he will unveil details of his plan later this week. biden is one of 9 million people in the u.s. who received at least one shot. in the past 11 days there have been nearly 30,000 covid deaths.

chris martinez reports from los angeles. >> reporter: with the coronavirus raging in los angeles, crews have had to load body bags into refrigerated trucks because the county morgue is full. >> this surge and tsunami that we're now having is now actually i think of it as being a raging viral wildfire. >> reporter: california now has about 30,000 covid deaths since the start of the pandemic including maria arrieta. >> it could be your mom. this time, it was our mom. >> reporter: in an effort to get a handle on the crisis in san southern california, san diego opened a vaccination superstation at peltco park. the goal is to vaccinate 5,000 health care workers per day. >> we're expecting a large shipment of vaccine today which should be able to take us through the week. >> reporter: this week dodger stadium which had been a testing supercenter will transition into a massive vaccination site. the l.a. mayor's office said the site will be capable of
