>> golden globes. >> bicoastal awards -- >> top moments from the virtual ceremony. good morning, good to be with you, i'm anne-marie green. we begin this morning with the newest coronavirus vaccine on its way to millions of americans. johnson & johnson's single-dose vaccine is being shipped out today and could be injected into arms starting tomorrow. more than 49 million americans have already received at least one shot of the double dose moderna or pfizer vaccines. debra alfarone is in washington. what does the new vaccine mean in the battle against covid-19? >> reporter: well, it means that we have just one more tool in this fight against this virus that has taken more than a half million people from us. it is just one shot. and experts say no matter what vaccine you're offered, take it. nearly four million doses of the johnson & johnson vaccine will start shipping out this morning. >> this is a much easier

logistical vaccine to administer. >> reporter: it's the third coronavirus vaccine to receive an emergency use authorization from the fda. the first that requires only one shot. >> really impressive vaccine because it is refrigerated, not frozen. i'm enthusiastic about this vaccine, and i truly believe whichever vaccine you can get first, take it. >> reporter: while the efficacy rate to prevent getting sick from covid-19 isn't as high as pfizer or moderna, trial data shows j&j is 100% effective at preventing hospitalizations and deaths. >> i will take the first one that is offered to me. i want that protection as soon as possible. >> reporter: johnson & johnson projects 20 million doses will be available by the end of this month, and 100 million by the end of june. >> we're going to get tens of thousands of additional vaccines per week, per state. it's just going to get us to the finish line that much faster. >> reporter: pfizer and moderna have promised 600 million doses by the summer, meaning every

during the seven-hour space walk, they assembled and bolted mounting brackets to the iss. the new solar panels are needed to upgrade the lab's aging solar power system. rubins will continue to work during another space walk this week. tiger woods got support from his friends, and there was an unusual zoom appearance. those are some of the headlines on the "morning newsstand." of view. he said there was another doctor there doing the surgery with him. the judge said he did not think it was appropriate to conduct the trial under these circumstances. he said that he would rather set a new date. green apologized. the "los angeles times" reports that the mystery over the kidnapping of lady gaga's dogs is intensifying after the dogs were recovered unharmed. a woman brought the two french bulldogs to a police station friday. police say it appears that she was not involved in the violent theft. a source told the "times" that the woman found the dogs tied to a pole. they were stolen last wednesday when two men jumped out of a car and demanded that lady gaga's dog walker hand them over. the dog walker was shot in the chest during a struggle. police say that they have no suspects in the attack. and espn says tiger woods tweeted his appreciation after several golfers wore red in his honor. during yesterday's final round of the workday championship in

been insensitive or too personal. a year of covid has led to a surge of violent carjackings in several cities. in chicago, the frequency of the crime more than doubled in 2020 to about four a day. as charlie de mar reports, one man is trying to hospital -- to help victims four wheels at a time. >> reporter: in chicago, more than 1,400 people were carjacked last year, a crime that spiked in cities across the country. >> then the guy told me not to turn around. >> reporter: edward padilla knows the pain, his gun was stolen at gunpoint, his life put on hold. >> i felt a gun behind my back and the guy telling me to get out the car. >> reporter: you know i got to ask you why. >> me being a victim of being carjacked, you know, my heart went out to him. >> reporter: jermaine jordan has been carjacked three times. he owns a car dealership, a car wash -- >> you waiting on -- >> reporter: and runs a charity that feeds and houses the homeless on chicago's west side.
