if it was an accident or intentional. neo from the scene shows a lot of that which seems to be knocked over by the suv. however, it doesn't appear that there were and any permanent safety challenges at the time. taking live look at the capitol hill. it left one police officer dead. an official has told the associated press that the suspect had been suffering from delusion, paranoia as well as suicidal thoughts. tom hansen has more on the security concerns in the wake of that incident. >> national guard troops at a security barricade about 100 yards. they had the following capital officer. the 41-year-old father of two was killed and another officer injured before heading. a family friend

this is the first weekend for the restaurant and hotel. both of them were boarded up for an entire year. >> they are both hesitant but also very excited. the time to get out of the house enjoy ourselves and you know just feel like we were actually part of that. >> was kind of weird to not have it out there. you know, it had been amazing to actually invite them back. with the colleagues in and around the hotel. >> the restaurant is introducing some new dishes. in the meantime, near the bay bridge, a new fitness studio called true fusion is putting on the finishing touches as it prepares to open in mid april.

construction began from the pandemic. >> we are so excited to get people indoors. it really feels like people want to be coming back together in the community. getting back in shape. >> i have to lose it as well. the city offers a mix of classes including boxing, hot yoga and cycling. a bay area company is giving its employees off next week. they will be letting more than 15,000 employees have spring break. it will be paid and the best part, they don't have to worry about catching up on emails when they return. >> to avoid burnout that's very nice.

let's talk about how today is going to play a outside for easter for a regular sunday. you can see all the clouds out there. it's very similar to yesterday. if anything, they are going to hang on a little bit longer. it stays great there little bit longer. we can see all of our reporting stations here today. that's more than yesterday. now the clouds have overtaken pretty much the entire area. so, if that's where it is now, we will play it forward on the futurecast. most of us have gotten back here. but if you're right near the coast, plan on it staying gray. and then, it will be clear into the overnight hours.

all right. daytime highs, upper 60s. very much right on the mark for average for this time of year. middle 50s for the coast. and then, if we are doing the average now, here it is with the average daytime highs. for most inland parts of the bay area. but, let's see how it actually will go. pretty much there. we will state on monday. little bit of a warm-up. but this isn't really significant. the way that things play out today are the way that they will play out from the much of the rest of the week. this looks really good on the satellite. if we take it on the futurecast, it is a cut off low. meaning it's not attacking for that jet stream. which is just kind of meandering aimlessly. not just until tuesday of this

week. but, if we put this in the forecast model, we will lose little bit of that resolution on it. it just sits there. all the while, while we are focused on that, this one tries to sneak in from the north. this has given us a small opportunity for rain. it is a cold system. and, this is not going to go far enough south to have any kind of an impact for meaningful rain here at home. the lower 70s are just looking at and that remains the case into next week. it's going to stay sunny. into the lower to middle 70s. we will stay in the lower to middle 60s. very typical. the numbers are here as is he is starting to get into that pattern now.

in serious condition at a new york hospital after suffering a heart attack. the 50-year-old has publicly battled substance abuse for years. he entered rehab in 2019. the longtime lawyer confirms that he was rushed to the hospital but doesn't know if it is drug related. his lawyer says that he is off of life support but there is little brain activity.

allergrgies have any different outcomes from the coronavirus. it's not really thought to cause more severe diseases in people who have seasonal allergies. >> ways that you can help minimize or allergy is to be where the pollen count. if it is high, stay inside and change the filter. i will tell you what, my eyes have been itching. >> here's the thing about these pollen counts. we share them because it is important to say track of them. there are very few highly detailed pollen counters around the area. there is one over in the east bay. there's been three of them. see you aren't necessarily going to be able to come away with the most exact story or what to expect, these are generalizations. they don't look good going into the next two days. trees are really going off right now, and particularly

susceptible to that. and if you are not sure why, get yourself an allergy test to see if you can find out where they're coming from. the one thing you can always see in the bay area is mt. diablo. as we take a look at that view, you can't see it right now because, the stratus clouds have obscured it. i can show you a view of another one. out towards the west and you can see the tower there. well about that. this isn't fog. this is just the stratus cloud that's coming on the marine layer. we are starting to get into that season with more common today and if we look at it on the futurecast much of it will run back by late morning. but if you're right at the coast, it may stay great into the early afternoon today.

so the deeper the little bit more persistent than what we saw yesterday. some of us have to see the great last a little bit longer. it stayed warm overnight because of that. temperatures are in the lower to middle 50s and the daytime highs will climb little higher today than they were yesterday. will be in the upper 60s for the daytime highs. the right on the mark for where we should be. lower to middle 60s here right on the mark. this is a pretty spot on average for easter. storms hitting up the coast just going to have to sit out and spin its wheels for the next several days. it's not that one. the one that develops off to the north that tries to get in here by the time we get to next weekend. that's next saturday.
