6:14 am
play out. i mentioned this at the top of the newscast, a lot like yesterday. upper 70s if you are inland but if you look at the numbers bay area wide, that 78 will be matched in many locations, whether it is concorde or livermore. temperatures in the 50s at the beaches, a little bit of an onshore flow which will help keep it relatively cool today on the big picture. only because the wind will be kicking up just enough along the coastline to help with that. speaking of the wind, watch the colors brighten up on the screen, right as a get into the late afternoon and early evening, that is a lot less than what we have been doing. for much of the second half of last week the wind was so intense it was felt bay area wide. but if you look at it today into the afternoon and evening, look for the brighter orange
6:15 am
and red, that is where you would not notice this and it is a more typical scenario. on the city and the peninsula, the wind is come on and it is onshore flow and then up into the delta, it works its way into solano county, fairfield always one of the windiest. ever also is much more manageable. so the wind will not be as bad and as a result we are able to warm up a few degrees. if you are inland contra costa and alameda county's, you did most of the warming yesterday, with immediate bay area today is about three or 4 degrees warmer than they were. future cast shows rain not only here but also here being pulled to the north with a big area of nothing happening for us. that pattern will hold for much of the next seven days. even though there is hope. if we put this into the long- range forecast that is.
6:16 am
as we get towards next weekend, enough energy take that rain up there and tries to drive it towards us. there will even be reinforcement so that even when that disappears, another takes its place. a unique thing to have a scenario like this where we see a continuation of an area of low pressure like that for almost the entire month stuck out off the coast. a unique april in that regard. that in terms of what it feels like you're at home, nothing to write home about. pretty typical this time of year. starting to change the pattern into more springlike weather, almost early summerlike weather in fact. there is a strong, onshore flow and big difference in temperatures from one part of the bay to the other. 50s along the coast and mid to upper 70s for daytime highs inland, and if you are in the bay it will be upper 60s to low 70s, no rain in the forecast will look at that again coming

regular occurrence. a quick look ahead at the rest of today, back to the upper 70s for the daytime highs today if inland. that is where we were yesterday. the change today doesn't necessarily happen inland. yesterday was the tended region daytime highs for concorde, livermore and santa rosa. today will notice a subtle improvement if you are in the immediate they because the onshore flow weakens more to the point it is still breezy but there will be less intensity of the winter day and temperatures will creep up a few. you may not notice a whole lot of difference but it will be a little warmer. i will play this forward into the afternoon. the brighter the color, the stronger the wind. there is the afternoon onshore surge, san francisco has a 23 mile-per- hour gus. you don't see that anywhere else unless you are on the coast or on the delta where will always be windy. and it will try to find its way inland being pulled in by all
