and the victim is heard saying are you serious before he body slams the young suspect. the suspect screams while his accomplice begs the victim to let him go but the san leandro police said the payer took off in a white kia suv also used earlier that day on april night in attempted robbery at an atm. the victim claimed to be an off- duty police officer and scared off the suspects. oakland police chief said there have been a series of robberies, thefts, and carjackings by suspects as young as 10. he's working with the alameda county probation department to find more constructive activities for young people. >> we know the pandemic is having a tremendous impact on young people with no extracurriculars, no school, and so they are being impacted, we want to make sure we give them positive outlets.

murder charge in the death of a sen-yeve-old girl. police caught up with the suspect, 18-year-old marion lewis on thursday. investigators believe he spread a car with bullets last sunday in a mcdonald's drive-through, and the girl inside, seven-year- old jessalyn adams was killed. her father was winded and in serious condition but on thursday police were following lewis when police say he attempted a carjacking, charges were announced late yesterday.>> he is being charged today in connection with the murder of seven-year- old jaslyn adams. >> lewis is charged with more than one dozen other felonies, they found two weapons including an ak-47 which may be connected to the girls murder. they are still looking for more suspects. a bay area doctorate stands accused of purchasing unapproved cosmetic treatments, then hiding the true nature of them from her patients. a federal grand jury indictment

on that note it is time for check of our weather with meteorologist darren peck, no tornadoes in the forecast but certainly some rain. >> interestingly enough emily, this will sound odd, there is a chance of a week tornadoes in the sacramento valley this afternoon. it happens in the spring but we're not talk about anything like the video in the state of texas but our small ones happen in the sacramento valley and this is the time of year when they do. we will look at live high death doppler, plenty of green. lots of light rain working its way across northern california and if we put that into the future past and look at what it will look like over the next three hours, let's time it out. the light rain we have right now is just light mist with doesn't happen to mount a whole lot. but then this afternoon the showers get organized and they worked away from the sonoma county line at around 9:00, now noon, that is the north bay

from 8100 until noon. and then from noon until around four clock, while we will see rain from goldengate south it will not be a lot. it will be fairly quiet. pretty light totals. the north bay y will get one quarter of and edge of rain today. if we look at the east and south bay the totals are similar, but lower, maybe 1/10 of and inch of rain. let's go to the wide view. let me show you why i will say if we do see thunderstorms and this part of california this is why. look at what happens on the bigger picture particularly the afternoon. today at 5:00 that looks different. this is far enough away from us here in the bay area i'm not forecasting the possibility of this year but it is a possibility for part of northern california and often times it makes headlines.

live from the cbs bay area studios this is kpix 5 news. >> welcome back , thanks for joining us, i am emily turner britt let's start this half hour with a quick check of the weather with meteorologist darren peck. >> it has been missing the last 12 hours on and off, and it is not the rain we have been forecasting the last several days. it shows up on radar right now as light rain and barely able to be measured. but look to the far northwest coast. that is the more meaningful well organized rain which gets here little bit after 7 1/2 this morning, and that is timing it around 8:00. it will march its way across the rest of the bay area. the first half of the day today will see some rain but not a lot, 1/10 to 1/4 of one inch of

rain, will break it all down in more detail coming up this next half hour. now back to you. a car fire cause massive delays on the bay bridge last night after the vehicle erupted into flames. it happened just east of harrison street before seven a clock p.m.. two lanes were blocked for about one hour backing up traffic way past the treasure island exit. no word yet on what caused the fire. another dead whale has washed up in san francisco and this time near ft. funston did the endangered fin whale was found washed up on a beach friday and experts with the marine mammal center in sausalito performed a necropsy and determined the will likely died from injuries due to a ship strike. was a 46 foot juvenile male with blunt force injuries around its neck but this was the fifth dead whale to wash his work in san francisco bay just this month alone. days after a man died in police custody, dozens of student protesters marched to the alameda police department
