let's start with a check of our weather. >> you can see it from treasure island looking back towards the skyline. the east bay is waking up to gray skies in so is the tri- valley. this is a widespread start. and the temperatures are pretty warm. lower to middle 50s. these temperatures are relatively clear. although, just a degree or two below average. the coast is 57. we will be back with the rest of the forecast, coming up. breaking news, deadly crash down an offramp for several hours. it happened around 11:00 p.m. at wolf road. one person died at the scene. one man was arrested. early reports indicated that they tried to avoid debris when they collided and careened into some trees. it reopened just over four

hours later. overnight they carried out the deadliest attack so far in gaza. it flattened three buildings killing at least 30 people. tanks bombarded gaza. this is the seventh day in a row of fighting between israel. now, earlier they said that they destroyed the home of the most senior member inside of that who is reported to be in hiding. he responded by firing a barrage of rockets into israel. this has killed the hundred and 80 people in gaza. the casualties include women and children. and here around 10 people including 10 people have been killed. this report now from tel aviv. >> and sirens blaring across the city.

>> here in alameda county, more than half, 55% of the people have been fully vaccinated. that percentage is even higher. they believe they could achieve that immunity sometime this summer. >> they say it could come from vaccination or natural infection. so, if you look at this, which was hit hard by the coronavirus, and has a high vaccination rate, they believe that this one has already reached the immunity. and there are other similar immunity pockets in the bay area. >> this is an interesting population because, that again, across the country, is pretty high. >> the infectious disease of antibodies. o many people ers suggest that

they are leading the pack. they say that 75% of those over 16 years old have received at least one dose of vaccine. >> until we get that immunity, it may be just transient depending on circumstances. >> but most doctors are still a few years out. because of the new variance. and vaccine equity. in the bay area, the biggest challenge is vaccine hesitance. >> i feel like i don't want to be one of the guinea pigs. >> they say that they don't trust the science. >> i don't trust him like that. because, everybody you put your trust in them. >> they say that they different from disease elimination. it's unlikely it will ever get rid of the coronavirus. in time, they can better manage this disease.

some bay area families are expressing their gratitude or efforts to vaccinate a segment of a population which is often overlooked. a one-of-a-kind vaccination clinic this weekend. it was designed to be accessible for those with developmental disabilities. now, for family members, it was a long awaited opportunity. >> we have created a whole opportunity around it. the number of sensory friendly toys. d, this is just to not over stimulate them. that's been really helpful. >> when you have a special s ch to a facility. >> a new vaccination clinic which opened in san francisco

i'm saddened. i'm disappointed. but, this is the data that suggest that we have a lot more work to do. er of the organization leading asian americans to unite for change reacting to the finding that 37% of americans say that they are not aware of an increase in hate crimes. 24% said that it's not a problem that should be addressed. >> another big take away, more than 40% of people struggle to name a prominent asian american today. >> we have jackie chan who is obviously asian american and we have bruce lee. >> best because half of non- asian american respondents th a overrepresented in leadership positions.

and an overwhelming majority of them said that they face discrimination in the united states. >> the actor daniel lou energized the crowd at the rally in oakland. they blew whistles and solidarity with others across the country. they encourage the crowd to support asian owned businesses and registered to vote. >> it's great to see them united together like this. >> they are doing so by sharing the new data with congressional leaders to perform policy and push for history courses in cases. >> i understand. and, this is what we can have to support us. >> that was betty reporting. now that they have a baseline copy will conduct the suey to track changes in public perceptions over time. the time now is 6:11 a.m.

now to the fire watch, brushfire forcing mandatory evacuations. they are looking for the person that they say started it. it is in the topanga state park north and west of santa monica. so far, it has burned 750 acres, with steep terrain and heavy brush. it started late on friday night and then exploded as they picked up. more than 70 firefighters are battling from the air due to the rugged terrain. they say it's part of the suspect in the area. >> i heard those games in there. so, he may be in that case. for him to survive that you know. you went there.e fire.

they had been ordered to leave their homes. let's pick up this forecast. this is from our camera on treasure island which is back towards the city. those are gray skies. but the gray skies have made it all the way inland. we will switch to that camera next. but, if we go to high death doppler, there's nothing on here. that is when the national weather service will send it off to the most sensitive setting. because the radar is reading. but, is no rain in the central valley. we still have a storm centered right over california. there will be more thunderstorms. instead, it is our marine layer.

this is by the time we got to the early afternoon today. and then it comes back again in the overnight hours. we are right at the heart of this season. we have this moniker and it certainly been applying for the last few days. you can see the showers that are spinning around the center of circulation. it really looks impressive. the higher the colors the bigger the clouds the more potential for the rain. you can see them trying to bring lightning to the bay area. but does dissipate in clear out. if we look at that system, the center of it is down here. everything is spinning around here. this is how the storms will continue to pinwheel as the center of that system moves away. until we get one more day today where we get those thunderstorms. here at home, it is just marine layer. that's really about it. it will be breezy today.

you can see the onshore flow. it gets us into sunday and monday as the wind starts to pick up. but that's just typical. it won't be as strong as the wind was for friday and saturday. especially, thursday and friday. it's going to start to weekend and it will be a typical show onshore flow. daytime highs in the middle 70s. we will have the lower 70s and the bay. and mainly into the lower 60s. so, we are going to warm back into the lower 60s. and, looking across the forecast, looking at the warm- up going into tuesday. we will see those numbers beginning to approach 80s. so, nice little warm-up before we cool it back down for the end of it. in the bay, we don't change a whole lot. the coast will say in the middle 50s.

that 29 a.m. let's start with a quick check of our weather from our meteorologist. stomach great start out there. we are probably getting a little bit of light drizzle here. but, no significant rain. it is just a great start for everybody. it extends all the way into the tri-valley. the temperatures are in the middle 50s. as far as how this plays out today. we should get the sunshine in the bay the time we get to the late morning today. but staying into the middle 60s for most locations. this is for those inland spots coming up in just a few days. this is at least 18 states by lifting mask mandates. after the fully vaccinated people. they can be massless in most places. it's still unclear what this will do. considering the move of knowing

dozen cities including sacramento. >> people gathered outside of the capital sharing their stories. speakers included the mayors of sacramento. they have that same region. >> rescue crews are working to free people trapped under rubble in a residential building hit by the israeli airstrikes. they are using excavation equipment to try to reach the survivors. one rescue worker said it's not clear how many were trapped but he believes it to be "a large number." police have made an arrest in connection with a deadly shooting. it happened around 10:30 p.m. they found a 31 old man had been shot and died in the hospital.

police later arrested him for the shooting. the motive remains unclear. four people are shot on friday and saturday. the first shooting happened on vienna street in prison avenue. they arrested a 17-year-old who they say admitted to the murder. then saturday morning, officers found a man in the 50s with a gunshot wound. he died at the hospital as well. a 49-year-old and a 54-year-old were also shot. they were taken with life- threatening injuries. they say that they were thethe national park. they haven't recovered a second body at. >> planning to move a homeless camp under the interstate 80.

week's system, keeping the temperatures from being able to climb too quickly. so, here's the rest of the marine letter which comes back between today. into tomorrow morning. we will do the same pattern. there is the system with the rain. you can see them just rotating. yet the isolated thunderstorms coming up. as always looks kind of cool. but, there is some real useful information here. not just that it looks cool. the higher the clouds the colder they are. imprsive that they are, the mo that ey could pop up. but, looking forward tod, we don't see that as the system getting pushed a little bit further off to the east. we still get a fair amount of those today.

that doesn't need to be watched for maybe a stray strike of lightning. and then, back home it's just the marine layer. this would just be related to that. we vide looked at it on the highly detailed marine layer forecast. it's nice to see it clearing out. we are going to experience an onshore flow today and tomorrow. on the city and on the peninsula. but, you can see the classic pattern here. allie along the coast and into the bay. certainly out there all to my pass. you see brig e highs today coming into the middle 70s. a little warmer today than we were yesterday. this trend keeps going because, we've daytime highs that will climb to nearly 80 by tuesday.
