gabrielle petito. she vanished during a cross-country trip with her fiance. authorities say a body found yesterday in wyoming is believed to be petito. they're now looking for her partner, brian laundrie, who was last seen last tuesday. he's been named a person of iterest and has not cooperated with authorities. bradley blackburn is in new york with the latest. bradley, good morning. >> reporter: good morning. so many volunteers were joining in that search to try to help to find gabby. the body was discovered by law enforcement agents who spent all weekend searching camp sites near grand teton national park. her family had hoped to find gabby alive. still, they say they are grateful to those agents for bringing her home. the search for gabrielle petito appears to have come to a tragic end. a body matching the description of the missing woman was found by investigators yesterday at a campsite in wyoming. >> full forensic identification has not been completed to confirm 100% that we found

gabby. but her family has been notified of this discovery. the cause of death has not been determined at this time. >> reporter: just after the news broke of the remains being found, petito's father, joe, shared a picture of gabby on twitter with a broken heart and the words "she touched the world." the 22-year-old's family had not heard from her since late last month when she contacted them from grand teton national park. >> we continue to seek information from anyone who utilized the spread creek dispersed camping area between august 27th and 30th. >> reporter: in july petito set out on a cross-country drive with her fiancee, brian laundrie. on august 12th, a utah police officer pulled their van over. the body cam video shows the couple in the middle of an emotional argument. >> we've been fighting all morning. and he wouldn't let me in the car before. >> reporter: according to police, laundrie was alone when he arrived at his parents' home in florida on september 1st. he was named a person of interest but refused to speak to

detectives before going missing last week. >> our goal is to locate him and bring him back to northport. >> reporter: laundrie's family believes he's inside the carlton reserve, a 24,000-acre wildfire refuge in sarasota county. his family members finally spoke with investigators in detail on friday when they reported his disappearance. more than 50 law enforcement officers have been deployed to the carlton reserve to search for him, and at this point laundrie is still not a criminal suspect. >> such a heartbreaking situation. bradley blackburn in new york. thank you. the u.s. has started flying haitians camped at a texas border town back to their hometown. -- homeland. more than 300 of them arrived in port-au-prince yesterday. many haitians had small children as they got off the plane and boarded a bus. the flights are expected to continue all week long. now last week, the u.s. closed the entry point to del rio after

thousands of migrants converged under a bridge. the department of homeland security urged migrants not to make the dangerous journey to the u.s. christina ruffini has more. >> reporter: instead of crossing the international bridge that connects acuna, mexico, to del rio, texas, an estimated 12,000 migrants, many of them haitians, are camped out under it. >> we now have one-third of the population of the city of del rio, texas, in a confined space. >> reporter: 400 border agents are being sent to help according to the department of homeland security which says it will accelerate the pace and increase the capacity of removal flights to haiti and other destinations. >> had is just at this point overwhelming for the resources that we have on hand. >> reporter: the u.s. has seen a surge in migrants at the southern border from countries like honduras, ecuador, and guatemala. now haitians, many of whom moved to south and central america after the devastating earthquake in 2010, are also heading north.

on friday, texas governor greg abbott added nearly $2 billion to his state's border security budget. >> it is the federal government's job to secure our border, but the biden administration has failed to do its job. >> that was christina ruffini reporting. the u.s. plans to begin seven expulsion flights daily starting wednesday. they're taking off from san antonio but authorities may add el paso, as well. a military jet crashed in a texas neighborhood during a routine training flight. navy officials said both pilots ejected before the plane crashed yesterday near fort worth. three homes were damaged. one of the pilots was electrocuted after being caught in power lines but survived. the other was found in a wooded area. one witness described the scene. >> i saw smoke in the treeline behind us. there was actually smoke, like black smoke. i didn't see the crash myself. i heard the explosion. >> three people in the neighborhood suffered minor injuries.

the instructor pilot was in stable condition. the student pilot was in serious condition. the jet was assigned to naval air station kingsville south of lake worth. an advisory committee of the cdc is set to meet on wednesday to debate who should get covid booster shots. on friday, an fda panel recommended a third dose of the pfizer vaccine only for people over the age of 65, and those with weakened immune systems. it's not available yet for the general public. meantime, dr. anthony fauci talked about people who received the moderna and johnson & johnson vaccines. he appeared on "meet the press" saying the data is just weeks away. >> we're working on that right now to get the data to the fda so they can examine it and make a determination about the boosters for those people. they're not being left behind by any means. >> dr. fauci also said more data may also show a broader need for booster shots across the general u.s. population. ahead on "cbs mornings,"

"reuters" says the national highway traffic safety administration opened an engineering analysis on cars from the model years 2001 to 2019. some of the automakers include honda, ford, nissan, toyota, tesla, and bmw. the investigation is centered around takata airbag inflaters installed when they were manufactured along with some used in prior recall repairs. elon musk is paying it forward. the spacex ceo pushed the recent
