6:16 am
with the first system come through yesterday. you might get and isolate a thunderstorm with that particularly as we go through late sunday night, into monday morning. if we just look at the rainfall totals for sunday, we only pick up about a quarter of an inch of rain. we have a half an inch to three quarters of an inch of rain on saturday. sunday's rain is not nearly as widespread or as intense. we cannot take the rain out the forecast on sunday. we look at the daytime highs today. we are going to climb back up into the low 50s for many spots. we hold onto the upper 40s for the warmer spots in the east bay and peninsula. the snow just keeps falling. totals in addition to what we have already gotten, we are just looking at the snow accumulation through today, monday and into tuesday morning. this includes the winter storm warning. it is about another three feet of snow. this is to go on top of what is already falling. saturday was the big snow day up there. there is still three more feet to go on top of what was enough
6:17 am
snow to shut down interstate 80. it is not just the sierra. look at the local mountains. the storm watch stays in effect until monday morning at 10:00 am. this is where the mounds of mendocino and lake county. when we look at the accumulated snow totals between now and tuesday, we could pick up some accumulations like down in the lower communities. we could get half an inch. an inch and a half is a little bit high for ukiah for this forecast model. ukiah sits below 1000 feet. it will be cold enough and we will get some snow down there but probably not a lot. most likely it is tuesday morning when that happens. so why are we in this pattern? the rain has been continuous. it is going to be fairly cold. look at the pacific. there is a big area where there is nothing going on. the storm track has got to go all the way up and over. it dies down right here off the coast.
6:18 am
that big block in the atmosphere for much of last winter was just a little bit further to the east. it was out here and that is why we had a drought. you cannot get storms that way. because that center has pushed off to the west a little bit. the placement is everything. those storms right up and they happen to be riding back down, right over us. that is why they seem to just keep coming relentlessly. here come two more. watch that in the future cast. we take that through sunday, monday, tuesday. there are the showers. we will get more rain out of these. we can add up the sunday rain, the monday rain. we can at the tuesday rain. you will see it in the seven- day forecast. there is rain on each one of these days. it goes through wednesday. we will clear things out by the time we get into thursday. it will be a well-deserved and needed break in the rain by the end of this next coming week. it is the day after. how is that christmas cleanup going? good morning, everybody. we have morning sports here.
